Game Time Can Take You Around The World

I have always been fascinated by other cultures but never really had the means to do any exploring. I love to watch travel and documentary type shows that essentially let me travel without the worry of my health getting in the way. I have friends who get to travel and lead rather exciting lives, it’s a passion of mine, one I would love to share with my kids and grand kids.

Around The World is a board game that will ignite that curiosity in young explorers and probably explorers of all ages. It is a fantastic way to start learning about the global world and it will even open doors for more in depth conversation about cultures and cultural differences.

The object of the game is to travel. By answering questions correctly you get to travel around the board and collect tokens for your global scorecard. The first player to travel around the world and fill in their scorecard wins.

There are four category cards: culture & customs, people & places, geography, and languages.  You need to guess three correct answers in each category in order to win. If you already have three for a category and you land on it again you have to wait until your next turn to try to travel to another category.

There are also world bank cards which help you travel in the game and give good karma. You will also have world wonder spaces which represent some of the wonders of the world. They are a fun way to start talking about these magical sites.

While this game can be played by ages 8 and up we found that even the adults learned a lot and had a great time playing. This is one of those games that you will really enjoy playing with your kids. Not only do you get to learn with them but you get to inspire them to explore their world.

It’s a great afternoon game, we averaged around a half an hour a round, which made it a great length for children.  If you want to explore your world with your children please take some time to browse the wonderful site and learn more about this wonderful geography game.

There are some wonderful promotions I can share with you as well. If you follow this link you can get 10% off your purchase and start your travels. You can also connect with them on Facebook and Twitter. Everyone who likes their Facebook page is entered to win one of the ATWG board games, which are given away every month.

They also have a wonderful Learning Through the Lens program. To participate is easy, just send in a photo you cherish from one of your trips and explain what it means to you. Each month two or three of the photos are chosen as winners and the winners get their photo and their story on the ATWG blog as well as a free board game.  Are you excited yet?

Well get excited because one lucky My Empty Nest reader is going to win their own Around the World Game! Please use the rafflecopter below to enter. Open to US residents 18 and older. Winner will have 48 hours to respond before another winner is drawn.
