Hello my crafty cats! I hope you are doing well and have something fabulous on your needles this week. I have some wonderful new needles to tell you about, and hang around because there will be a giveaway too! Since I started knitting, I have noticed I am forever looking at great patterns and thinking ‘I don’t have that needle’ or ‘My needle that size is occupied.’ Well now with the my new interchangeable needles from Knitter’s Pride those problems are solved!
Knitter’s Pride offers sizes and kits in a great range and in different materials, so chances are if you need a needle, they have you covered. I had been anxious to start a chunky project called a six hour afghan, which as it turns out takes way more time than six hours for a beginner. What I needed before I started was a size 17 circular needle. As I looked at my wish list with all of these needles I thought there must be a better way than buying individual needles and there is! Interchangeable needles.
Knitter’s Pride offered a set in what they called chunky which had sizes 13, 15, and 17. In the kit there is also two cords in 24’ and 32’. It also has 4 end caps and two cord keys so you can secure things tightly. What is really super neat about these is since the needle can come off the cord, your needles are never tied up! The end caps screw onto your cord to make sure your work can’t slide off.
For me personally I picked the Nova set because metal is, so far, my preferred material. These big needles really make that click, click sound that I find so soothing noticeable too. It takes some getting used to holding such a big needle and every night when I went back to work on my project that is on a size 8 needle it felt so tiny and strange in my hands.
Working with these is a really joy! The yarn slides over them so easily; there is no drag or hang up, even at the connection point. The stitches just slide right to where I want them almost effortlessly. The cords are nice and flexible and allow for free and easy flow. Plus the needles themselves are very lightweight, so it easy to just knit and knit until my heart is content. I love these so much and can see wanting the deluxe set as well, which has a range of smaller sized more commonly used needles.
As I said I am working on a 6 hour afghan, which is taking more than six hours, and here is my progress. I will share the pattern with you just as soon as I bind off and see for myself how it looks. It is going much faster than my husband's blanket on the smaller needles and that could be because this set from Knitter's Pride is so awesome.
Make sure you head over to the Knitter's Pride site to see all the awesome set they offer (there is so much) and connect with them on Facebook and Twitter as well to stay up to date great offers and promotions. I know you have been looking at my lovely needles and thinking, giveaway, she said giveaway. I have never seen any needles like this before, but of course that may have something to do with the fact that I don't knit, but I do love to see your new creations each time I check out your craft posts.
