I am sure you all have heard about the nasty chemicals that can leech into your foods and drinks when using plastic containers to store them. BPA, PVC, lead, and polystyrene are just a few of the chemicals that can be hiding in your plastic containers. Your food is really at risk when you use these containers to heat up your food. Concerned with this, I set out to find a better alternative and I came across a container that is much cooler than I expected!
Frego containers are composed of three parts: a glass bowl, a colored silicone sleeve, and a see-through silicone lid. Both the silicone and glass do not contain the chemicals that plastic alternatives can have. They are also dishwasher, microwave, freezer, fridge, and OVEN safe. Yes, you can put this bad boy in the oven! The silicone is safe up to 465 degrees and the glass is safe up to 600 degrees. I love the functionality, easy of use, and peace of mind that my Frego container provides me.
The silicone lid provides a virtually airtight seal with both the glass and silicone sleeve which protects your food's freshness and prevents spills! The colored silicone sleeve, which comes in blue, green, orange, and honeysuckle, helps protect the glass bowl in case of drops and falls. It also protects you from the hot glass after heating in the microwave or oven. The 2-cup size is more than enough room to store your lunch or leftovers from dinner! Also, if you use a dry erase marker, you can label your container and wipe it off easily when you change the contents!

I thought it was interesting that they are freezer, fridge, microwave, oven and dishwasher safe. That's pretty impressive.

ReplyDeleteI found lots of things I like at the frego website. One interesting thing is that frego glass is safe in a really wide temperature range, from -40°F to 465°F
