I have never been to a lighthouse, but we all hold certain expectations of places in our head and I always imagined they would be lovely, cozy places. I have also not read the first part of the Lighthouse Library Mystery series, but that did not stop me from falling in love with the second part, Booked For Trouble by Eva Gates.
From the back of the book:
The author of By Book or By Crook returns to the Outer Banks and the Lighthouse Library, where Lucy Richardson must shed light on a shocking murder…
Lucy has finally found her bliss as a librarian and resident of the Bodie Island Lighthouse. She loves walking on the beach, passing her evenings with the local book club, bonding with the library cat, Charles, and enjoying the attention of not one, but TWO eligible men. But then her socialite mother, Suzanne, unexpectedly drops in, determined to move Lucy back to Boston—and reunite her with her ex-fiancĂ©.
To make matters worse, Suzanne picks a very public fight at the local hotel with her former classmate Karen Kivas. So, when Karen turns up dead outside the library the next morning, Suzanne is immediately at the top of the suspect list. Now Lucy must hunt down a dangerous killer—before the authorities throw the book at her poor mother…
My thoughts:
First... setting! Oh my! I just love libraries, as you might have guessed. There is no place away from home that I feel more at home in than a library. Now imagine that library, in a cozy lighthouse, and with a charming staff. Now you have the idea of what awaits when you start reading this series!
This book had everything I love in a cozy: a great mystery, a charming setting, a heroine I can relate too, and a great supporting cast that includes two suitors! I do love that extra bit of something a love triangle adds. Plus, a cat! I am sucker when animals are part of the story. This is one of those types of books that offers so much enjoyment I can get excited about recommending you read it. I just can't wait for the next part!
