ThermaCELL Mosquito Repellent Appliance

My husband really love being outside, he will even head outside to take a nap or day dream. The problem with spending so much time outside in our area is bugs. I am personally more inclined to stay inside than to rub nasty chemicals into my skin in an effort to fend off the hordes of mosquitoes that can be found here in all seasons except the dead of winter.

ThermaCELL has a great alternative to spraying yourself with poison. They make a Mosquito Repellent Appliance that doesn’t require you to wear anything or to light any stinky smoking sticks. The appliance repels mosquitoes’ and black flies from an area of 225 square feet!  I love that! Now I can sit on the porch with my husband without being eaten alive.

Another really great thing is that it is totally portable. We also love to go to the lake and to friends backyard events and we can just easily put this in the travel bag and have it handy for when the bugs come to spoil our fun.  Plus my husband can keep it close to him when he is working the garden. It really is such a handy and useful appliance.

It’s very easy to use too. The appliance comes with three mats that last up to four hours apiece. When you are ready to head outside just remove the mat from it’s wrapper, make sure the switch is off, insert the mat under the black grill. You can gauge the mat life by the color, when it starts out it is blue and as it runs out it turns white.

Next you remove the cover and butane cartridge cap, screw in the cartridge until it stops, and put the cover back. The cartridge lasts for 12 hours. You can check to make sure it is working by looking at the little lens at the end, if it is glowing everything is working. Make sure you don’t touch the grill because it does get hot.

I think it is just absolutely fantastic that I can sit outside with my husband now for hours without getting bitten and without any nasty sprays or smokes. Do you spend a lot of time outside?
