Our Local Box Review & Giveaway

You all know I love subscription boxes and I have  a great one to share with you today. Our Local box is a fantastic monthly box that introduces it’s subscribers to local treats and goods from the great state of Kentucky. I love taking in the local traditions of places I visit and getting this box gave me a chance to take in the flavor and flair of Kentucky without even having to leave my home. Of course after this little taste of what Kentucky has to offer I need to plan a trip.

On top of the box was a Ladybirds CD, Shimmy Shimmy Dang! I had never listened to the Ladybirds before and I was so happy to get to. The first track, Shimmy Shimmy Dang! was so much fun, very retro and I just knew I was going to love the whole CD. I swear every track was more groovy than the last. While this is a very 50s/60s sounding collection you can hear the influence of punk making it even more suited to my taste. I really thoroughly enjoyed every song and if I had to pick a favorite I would have to say it would be Stay Gone Part 1. I loved the soulfulness of that track.

Now while you have on this awesome CD it would be a perfect time to relax in the bath and in the box was a lovely all natural bar of soap from Sassa Bella. The scent was an energizing lemongrass and spearmint. The ingredients are natural and many of them are organic. Even better it is eco-friendly, biodegradable, cruelty free, vegan, and handmade! I will have to make a visit to the Sassa Bella site and see what other skincare products they offer.

To add some mood lighting to your bath there was also a lovely pear and white tea scented soy candle from Earth Goddess Candles. The scent is absolutely wonderful, very fresh and relaxing.  This is a nice size candle too, so you can enjoy many long baths with its' lovely fragrance.

Up next  was a bottle of Bear Claw Honey Butt Spice. I love the hint of sweetness in this spice. We have used it on home fries, steamed vegetables and we have even sprinkled it on our homemade pizza. When they say you can use it on everything they are right. It is a unique taste that will go on just about everything.    

Last but certainly not least was the Pappy’s XXX White Lightning Barbecue Sauce. We may be vegetarians but believe it or not we go through a serious amount of barbecue sauce.  I love it for fries and steamed vegetables and my husband will put it on anything. Seriously he likes everything to have either spice or zest. I really loved the hint of bourbon in this sauce.

One thing I was really impressed with was that everything in this box was full size and of a fantastic quality. Often you can feel like you are not getting what you pay for in a subscription box but that is not the case here. This is one of the nicest boxes I've had the pleasure of receiving. I really recommend this box to all subscription lovers, it is as high quality as they get.
