It’s snack time! I know it’s snack time a lot in my house. What can I say, I’m a muncher of the highest degree and that is probably why I am always looking for new healthier snack options. One great way to try a lot of new and wonderful snacks that are on the healthier side is by subscribing to Bestowed Box. I told you about my first box last month, and I am even more excited about this month.
This month everything in the box was GMO free! There seems to be a lot of passion about GMOs, and understandably. Most of you probably know that a GMO is a genetically modified organism. The frightening part for me is that they have been engendered with DNA from bacteria, viruses, or other plants and animals. When I see NON GMO on a label I am more inclined to give it a try, because in my opinion GMOs are scary and I’d rather not eat them at all.
Just listen to all of the great NON GMO snacks Bestowed Box has hand picked for its' subscribers this month:
From Gnu Food was a Fiber Love soft baked fiber bar. Oh my, this was a lovely treat. I tried the cinnamon raisin flavor and it was just divine. It’s like having an oatmeal cookie without having the guilt afterwards, and I just happen to be an oatmeal cookie fan. Not only does it taste great, it has 48% of your daily fiber too!
The Good Bean Crunchy Roasted Chickpeas, which I have tried before in the plain flavor. I was pretty excited to get to try a new flavor since I really liked the plain sea salted ones. The ones I got to try were smoky chili lime! They had some kick to them and my husband being a fan of all things spicy claimed most of them for himself. These are awesome grab and go snacks to help fuel your travels.
Hemp Pro 70, which is a plant based protein powder. Hemp is easy to digest and gives all 10 essential amino acids. As far as protein powders go this is one of the more mild ones. If you don’t like the taste of protein powders you can mix it with a smoothie or something that will mask the taste.
Unreal Candy included the peanut butter cups, which we had tried before and knew we loved. How awesome is it to get to have candy that doesn't have any nasty ingredients! I just loved that there are no artificial colors, flavors or corn syrup, and it still tastes just as nice!
Ultima Replenisher is a wonderful health drink that is perfect for recharging after you have done some intense cardio. You just mix this with water, it couldn't be easier and the one I tried had a nice grape flavor.
Enjoy Life Seed & Fruit Mix is awesome for me because my urologist told me to cut back on nuts because they contribute to my kidney stones. I love trails mixes and most of them have nuts but this one has no nuts, in fact it is free of all the common allergens. The mix I had was Mountain Mambo which had sunflower kernels, pumpkin seeds, raisins, apples, chocolate chips, and cranberries. It was totally delicious.
Way Better Snacks, which I had seen before, but never tried, was included in the Simply Beyond Black Bean Tortilla Chips. These are made with sprouted black beans, golden flax and quinoa, doesn't that sound awesome? Well it was. I devour chips and just love this better alternative to traditional chips.
And last there was a huge bag of awesome! From Nature’s Path was the Love Crunch Dark Chocolate Macaroon Granola, which is as lovely as it sounds. It has thirteen whole grains per serving, plus it’s low in sodium. You can munch this straight out of the bag or I love to throw in my Greek yogurt. We will be getting more of this.
Also as a bonus there was a card that you can fill out to get a year of Women’s Health for free. This month was a fantastic box and as I said before a wonderful way to find some delicious NON GMO goodies. Bestowed Box can be purchased monthly for $19 or they offer an annual membership of $209, both include free shipping. Plus you can get your First Box for $10 instead of $19 with the code HELLOTEN103.
