It’s hard to keep my house smelling fresh with four dogs. I’m talking about four proper, roll in the dirt, smelly dogs too. We love our dogs like children, but we are not so crazy about having a house that smells like dog, so I try a lot of things to help with that. And it goes without saying that we sweep and vacuum a whole lot. In doing so we use a lot of carpet powder, and I am always looking for one that can really help freshen above and beyond.
A name that comes to mind for me when I think about freshening is Febreze, which we use on all of our fabric surfaces to totally get rid of that dog smell, and with great results. When I had the chance to try the Febreze carpet power endorsed by Bissell I was thrilled. I mean I know what Febreze can do on fabric and Bissell is the maker of the best vacuuming solutions - what’s not to be excited about.
It works like any carpet powder, open, sprinkle, wait, and then vacuum - easy peasy. The scent however was not ordinary it was lovely! I used the Hawaiian Aloha, which gave the house a nice tropical scent. Like a beach-side vacation with no dog odors to interrupt my daydream. I loved that the smell lingered long after it was vacuumed up too.
In fact when I was starting to vacuum the next day I could still smell the scent albeit faintly. Since we vacuum so much it lasted perfectly for us. And did I mention the smell was amazing? Of course I did, but bears repeating. When I turned on the vacuum the next time I could smell the scent of the powder! That is really something special because often when you turn on a vacuum, if you have dogs especially, the smell can be gross. So as a bonus to my fresh smelling house I now have a fresh smelling vacuum.
If you can’t find Febreze carpet powder in your local shops you can purchase it on the Bissell website, price varies depending on location but right now for me it is a great value at 2.99. You can connect with Bissell on Facebook and Twitter to stay up to date with their awesome product line.
