This Thanksgiving after the table was cleared, we decided to try a new game - Spontuneous. Considering me, my husband, brother and his wife are all music lovers, we thought it would be a great fit, and we were right. We really had a lot of fun!
With the four of us playing, the game lasted an average of a half hour each time, so it won't monopolize your time. It's really this simple: One player (Tunesmith) says a word and the others race against each other and the clock to try and blurt out a 5-word portion of lyrics from any song containing the given Trigger-Word! The player who begins singing first, gets to roll the dice and advance around the board! If nobody can sing a song, the Tunesmith must be able to back it up with a song of their own, or else they roll both dice and move backwards. I love that the premise is to stump everyone, and since we are all music lovers it was really hard to stump anyone.
There are also challenges if you happen to land your piece on a Spontuneous Treble Clef. Look at my brother tickled by his challenge! I had a few of my own as well. First player to get their piece around the board to finish and complete the challenge wins - and get all the bragging rights, and in this house that means the right to sing ‘we are the champions’ at the top of your lungs!
If you are looking for a really unique family friendly game to play at your next game night I recommend Spontuneous! I also think it would make a great party game, and would be a blast on a camping trip.
There are weekly contests for a chance to win Spontuneous by playing Spontuneous on thier FaceBook page Photo Caption/Lyric Contest.
Spontuneous has generously offered one lucky reader the chance to win their own Spontuneous game! Please use the rafflecopter below to enter. Open to US residents 18 and older. Please be on the lookout for a winning email as you will have 48 hours to respond before another winner is drawn.
