Humidify with Honeywell & a Giveaway

The dry indoor air during the winter wreaks havoc on my skin and sinuses.  I notice the discomfort the very first day we have to turn on the heater. It causes me to spend most of the winter with a sinus headache and flaky skin, both of which are annoying for their own reasons.

I had heard of humidifiers before but for some reason I had in my mind that they were for kids when they are sick, and while they are very useful for that, they are also useful for all the issues dry air causes. This winter is over for most people but here in Kansas no one bothered to alert our weather that it is Spring! Today was a chilly high of 42! That means my heater is still running! Also running today I have the Honeywell Cool Mist Humidifier.

One of the many things about this humidifier that is wonderful is the UV germ killing technology which kills up to 99.9% of certain bacteria, viruses, mold, and fungus in the water. I also really love that it is actually quiet when it runs. A lot of machines claim that but this one really is quiet.

The water tank is crack resistant and the tank and tray can be washed in your dishwasher. I also like how nicely the tanks sits in the sink while you fill it up with water. The humidifier also adjusts itself according to the right amount of moisture that can be in the air of a certain temperature.

The filter is a protec antimicrobially treated filter and it only needs replacing every 6 months or so, which is great! This machine runs up to 24 hours before you need to refill and works best in medium sized rooms, which makes it perfect for the bedroom.

This is on the big side for something that wants to sit on a dresser so if you don’t have a good deal of surface space you might have an issue. I have dust issues though so all my surfaces are free of dust collecting nick-knacks and I found a home for my unit quite easily.

One extra benefit I noticed was it reduces static electricity! That’s awesome. I can’t even express how bad the static electricity is in my room in the winter with two adults and 5 pets! I shock myself daily in the winter! So this benefit absolutely tickled me to no end - it should be listed as a feature!

The set up on this is so easy and intuitive! There are only four parts so it really really isn't complicated. The four parts are a bottom piece that the filter and base rest in. The filter, the base, which has the fan built in, and the water tank. The first thing you want to do to get set up is take out the tank, which just slides out. Then you can rinse it and fill it with cool water. It has a handle built in to the design. After you put the tank back in the base you are ready to plug it in and power up, how easy is that?  It has three settings depending on your moisture needs.
