It’s a sad truth that just because I have started using creams and treatments for wrinkles doesn't mean I still don’t need treatments for acne. In fact, sometimes I wonder if my wrinkle creams might be causing some of my acne issues. When I think back to when I was a teenager and really struggled with acne there was one brand we all used - Clean & Clear.
Given how good it worked for me and my friends back then (longer than I want to admit) I was not surprised to see Clean & Clear is still making wonderful products to help teens and adults with acne issues. I was lucky enough to get the chance to try the Clean & Clear Essentials line, which is set up in three easy steps - even the bottles are numbered.
The first step is a foaming facial cleanser, which is offered in both a regular formula and a sensitive skin formula, which I tried. It comes in a nice pump bottle, which presses very easily. It was plenty mild enough for me, and I do have rather sensitive skin. The scent was a light clean soapy scent and it rinsed clean, leaving no residue. It did get foamy and I tried to get a good picture for you but by the time I dried my hands to grab the camera all you get to see is me with a soapy, shiny face.
After you have rinsed all of the soap off, step two is either a regular deep cleaning astringent or a sensitive skin deep cleansing toner, which I used. This had a smell that really reminded of the Clean & Clear I used when I was younger. It was a stronger smell than the soap, but I imagine that is due it having a pimple fighting medicine. It is oil free and leaves your skin feeling totally clean and refreshed.
The next step is the Clean & Clear Essentials Dual Action Moisturizer. This moisturizer is oil free and has acne medicine. It is made to be gentle enough for sensitive skin as well. I didn't notice a strong smell and happily report that is absorbs nicely leaving you with soft skin.
I have been using the whole line for just over a week and the small breakout around my nose is gone, and so far no more have returned. I have also had no irritation from any of the steps.
If you are someone you know could benefit from a line of skin care designed to help clear your skin I recommend you browse the Clean & Clear site and find what product or products would be right for you. You can also connect with Clean & Clear on Facebook.
Disclosure: I may receive products in exchange for an honest review. Regardless, I only recommend products or services I personally believe will be good for my readers.
I love Clean & Clear. I haven't used it in a while, think I may need to give it a shot again!
