Friday, December 20, 2013 - Evanger's Wild Salmon Freeze-Dried Dog & Cat Treats

I will freely admit I spoil my pets, all five of them. I take great joy in seeing them happy and in knowing I had something to do with that happiness. After all, they add a great deal of happiness to my day, every single day. It used to be a challenge to keep them supplied with quality treats and food, but then I found

Chewy is really one stop shopping for food related supplies for pet owners. One thing I especially love is the selection of meat based treats like Evanger's Wild Salmon Freeze-Dried Dog & Cat Treats. You read that right - dog and cat! This is the very first time I have ever seen a treat I could feed to the dogs as well as the cat. That alone drew my attention.

Once it had my attention I found out the best part, this treat has one single ingredient - wild salmon. In a time when even people food is loaded with strange ingredients that don’t sound like food, it is so refreshing to be able to feed my pets food that is food. Plus salmon is high in protein and low in calories and saturated fat.

Having just one ingredient makes these perfect for pets with food allergies and also finicky eaters. You can also use these as a training reward or food mixer. My cat Sam can be a bit finicky but when I put the opened box on the ground and let him explore he was instantly drawn to the box and very curious. I broke him off a small piece and was so thrilled to hear him purring as he ate.

My four dogs are nowhere near anything even close to finicky and as soon as they saw a new treat box they were all ready and eager for a taste. They literally swarmed my husband trying to get the next piece. After the first treat dispensing all of them were very aware of the box and it was so hard to get just one to come with me for training.

I had to take the treats and leave them in the other room for a little while before trying to get just one dog to come out with me. They did so good with all of the commands and really enjoyed the treats as a reward. I loved giving them the treats because I knew they were pure wholesome treats that were good for them.

When you get ready to purchase treats and food for your furry friends I recommend you browse the selection at, they have everything you need and some things I bet you didn’t even know existed, like single ingredient treats that are good for cats and dogs! Disclosure: I may receive products in exchange for an honest review. Regardless, I only recommend products or services I personally believe will be good for my readers.

  1. I have not heard of Evanger's Wild Salmon Freeze-Dried Dog & Cat Treats but I am truly going to check them out my boxer loves salmon.

  2. My dogs, that range in size from extra small (teacup chihuahua) to large (dalmatian german shorthaired pointer mix) love to spend hours licking and chewing. I recently got a pack of organic dog chews from a store. The plus, is that this product is not offensive to the humans. Unlike, bully sticks or pizzle for instance, that reek, these dog Chews does not have an unpleasant odor. It's rather subtle.
