Holiday Gift Guide - For Her - Studio Gear Cosmetics

It is no secret that I love make-up. With a love of make-up comes a curiosity about all the different products out there. Trying new beauty products is definitely a hobby, or obsession, of mine. The awesome people over at Studio Gear Cosmetics were nice enough to send me a little sampling of their products to try and since I love make-up how could I resist?

After browsing around their site, I realized that Studio Gear carries just about every kind of product you can think of. They have make-up for your complexion, cheeks, eyes, lips and everything in between. They even carry skin care products like toners, cleansers, moisturizers, masks, and scrubs. Needless to say, after looking around, I was very excited to try a few things from their line.

My products came packaged neatly in a cute little cosmetic bag. The bag is plastic and clear. It features the Studio Gear logo on the side of it as well. Around the zipper, there was adorable purple and gold detailing. All of the make-up was packaged in soft, matte black containers. The packaging looks super sleek and elegant.

The first thing I grabbed for was the Cake Eyeliner in Black. I love me some eyeliner! This concept was new to me so I was very excited! It comes in a little round compact like an eyeshadow might. It is a powder but is a little grainier than an eyeshadow or blush. You dampen your brush and then dip it into the product. The result is reminiscent of a cream or gel eyeliner. Depending on the pressure you apply and your water to product ratio, you can end up with quite a few different colors ranging from a medium gray to a deep, dark black. One thing that I really like about this product is that it won't dry out like gel eyeliners will! It is a powder so you don't ever have to worry about going to use it and it being rock solid! The eyeliner has great staying power but isn't waterproof. I had no problem wearing this eyeliner through my workday. After work, it looked like I had just applied it still. It didn't smudge and there was no transfer on to my eyelid.

The next thing I went for was the Hidden Agenda Concealer in Light. I would assume that most women love a good concealer and I am no exception.  This concealer is creamy but not thick. It applies smoothly and blends into your skin effortlessly. I have noticed that it is build-able and you can get a little more coverage if you need it. It matches my light skin tone great. It is good at covering up blemishes and discoloration. Also, it is good at covering up dark circles but can crease under the eye. I definitely recommend setting it with a powder and keeping and eye on it if you do use it for dark circles.

The last product in my little goody bag was a Complete Color Lipstick in Audition. I really like this lipstick. Audition is a dusty rose, mauve-y color. My lips are quite pigmented naturally so for me it is a 'your lips but better' color. It applies so smoothly and is really pigmented. The staying power is about that of your average lipstick but it does have a little bit of a staining quality. It won't stain your lips completely but you will have a tint on your lips after the rest of the lipstick has worn off. It is super creamy and doesn't have an over powering fragrance.

Overall, I am quite impressed with Studio Gear Cosmetics. They have great quality products and they are really affordable.
