I am sure most of you have heard about the benefits of drinking from glass. For me the main attraction is not to have the danger of chemicals from plastic and metal containers leeching into my water. Plus did you know that glass actually keeps your drinks colder longer? I always use glass cups when I am at home but not always when I am out. Mostly because I am afraid of breaking the glass and having a huge mess.
I was very lucky to get to try the PURE Safe-Shell Glass Bottle in the Explorer Style. It makes it easy to travel with fresh water, in glass, without fear of the mess. It is a 25 ounce reusable glass bottle that has an exterior clear coating which strengthens the bottle. In addition to the coating the glass used in making the bottle is borosilicate glass, which makes them extremely tough to break. However, if you do break them the outer coating helps stop it from being a messy, or even hazardous, disaster.
The coating feels almost soft to the touch and almost spongy. What it does is keep the shards and even the liquid self contained should you drop and break it. All you have to do then is dispose of it properly. Speaking of disposal, I love that the PURE glass bottles are recyclable.
When it comes to cleaning you know I am all about ease, and the Safe-Shell is so easy to clean. It only has 2 parts; the bottle and the cap. There are no little bits and bobs, just a bottle and lid. For longevity, it is recommended that you hand wash the bottle, which is what I prefer anyway. I am so thrilled now that I can get the same great tasting water on the go as I do at home.
