Coats & Clark Great Afghans & Throws

Since I started crafting I really have been drawn to afghans and throws. There is just something special about something that brings so much comfort and beauty to a home. There are so many patterns floating around it can be hard to find that perfect heirloom quality one.

Now you already know I love working with Red Heart yarns so I was really excited to see the pattern book Coats & Clark Great Afghans & Throws with eleven fabulous Afghans & Throws that are all made with Red Heart Super Saver. These are all stunning designs that are the type you will keep in the family as cherished treasures.

You will find patterns for both knitting and crocheting, which is nice because I like to do both for different looks. They also range in ability too so there are patterns that are at the beginner level as well as more challenging ones.

The cover photo, Roses In Bloom, is really what drew my attention and when I saw this was an easy pattern I was just so amazed because it looks like it would be expert level. The instruction are so easy to follow as well, even for a beginner to pattern reading, like myself. I also really, really love the Woven Lacey Ribbons. I have been looking for a pattern to make for my daughter and this one is such a pretty sophisticated looking blanket.

The Super Granny is also on my list of patterns to get on my hook. I love the dramatic colors they picked and I am super excited to try a granny because there are so many neat things made with granny squares and I have yet to make my first square!

I can't say enough about the beauty of the eleven patterns in this book. If you want to peek at them you can see all eleven HERE and once you do I know you will want to have this fabulous book in your collection. Plus the value is awesome at 4.99 for the download that is less than fifty cents a pattern!

I encourage you to visit Red Heart and Coats and Clark online to see all of the great supplies they offer and make sure to browse around all of the free patterns for inspiration and ideas for your next project. Look for supplies from the whole Coats and Clark family at your local craft stores as well as online. You can also connect with Red Heart on Facebook and Twitter for fun promotions, new products, free patterns, and promotions.

  4. I agree, there is something special about afghans. I remember my grandma making them. My mom used to make them too. Such a comfort to curl up with something made by your family!

  5. (Coats & Clark Great Afghans & Throws) These are some really beautiful afghans to make. I use to knit years ago when I was a child, but haven't done anything in years.
