Mill Creek Entertainment / The Adventures of Sherlock Holmes

I love Sherlock Holmes! So much so in fact, that I just crocheted myself a Sherlock hat. I tend to prefer more classic Sherlock and think I have narrowed down my favorite to either Ronald Howard or Basil Rathbone. Finding great Sherlock sets is really easy if you know about Mill Creek Entertainment.

You have probably heard me rave about the fantastic sets they offer and how awesome the prices are and I would venture a guess you have probably seen Mill Creek sets in the store or on your favorite online retailer. When you are ready for your next, or even your first Sherlock Holmes set I have to recommend The Adventures of Sherlock Holmes from Mill Creek Entertainment.

First, you get 39 fantastic episodes of The Adventures of Sherlock Holmes series featuring Ronald Howard as Holmes and the best ever Watson, in my opinion, Howard Marion-Crawford. You really, seriously, can’t go wrong with almost twenty hours of the awesome team. It is black and white, from 1954, and filled with all of the charm I expect from TV from that time. Lestrade, everyone’s favorite inspector had me chuckling a time or twenty as well. I can see watching the whole series more than a few times.

Every Girl Needs A Sherlock Hat!
The series alone would make this set worth having so the four feature films are a really nice bonus. The first three movies star Arthur Wontner as Sherlock. Murder At Baskervilles (1937), one of my favorite and often retold, also stars Ian Fleming as Watson. The Triumph of Sherlock Holmes (1935) also stars Ian Fleming as Watson.

The Sign of Four (1932) Has Ian Hunter as Watson to Arthur Wantner’s Holmes. The fourth movie was a lot of fun for me because it had Basil Rathbone, who I did mention I love in the role. It was The Woman in Green which had Nigel Bruce playing Watson. Really you can’t go wrong with any of the four on a lazy afternoon. I watched them while the thunder roared outside and it was pure heaven.

Make sure you head over to browse the full selection of titles from Mill Creek Entertainment on their website. You will find everything from family and classics, to horror and sci-fi! Make sure you stay connected with them on Facebook and Twitter too so that you never miss a new release.

Disclosure: I may receive products in exchange for an honest review. Regardless, I only recommend products or services I personally believe will be good for my readers.
