Hello Crafters! You may recall last week I designed a lovely hooded scarf. I loved it so much and, so did everyone else who saw it, so I really wanted to make some more. I especially wanted to make one for my mom because the last time I made a scarf she looked at it and said, ‘that needs a hood.’ I went to my favorite place for craft books, Leisure Arts, and sure enough they had a pattern book filled with patterns for Hooded scarves!
It is appropriately called Hooded Scarves to Crochet and it has five fast patterns that you can complete in a weekend. In addition to being fast, the patterns are also lovely and they look more complicated that they are which is always nice!
I was able to quickly whip up the cover scarf called Aruba Sea. I did it in a variegated purple yarn since that was what mom wanted. I do think the cool stitches get a little lost in the mixed shades and next time I make it, I will use a solid color as recommended but mom loved it and it really did come out smashingly fabulous.
I will be making the Gaelic Charm next for myself, or maybe my librarian, as she is due a gift for always having the perfect mystery waiting for me. All of the patterns are easy to follow and marked at the easy level, so anyone should be able to whip up one of these beauties. If you are looking for a pattern to make up some fast gifts that will impress this will be perfect.
No matter what type of craft or pattern you are looking for, take some time to browse Leisure Arts' great selection and make sure you also connect with Leisure Arts on Facebook and Twitter so that you never miss a special or new pattern! Also, if you sign up for their knitting or crochet newsletters, you get a free pattern on Fridays!
