Bushel Full of Murder by Paige Shelton

I have been reading the Farmer's Market Mystery series by Paige Shelton since the very start and I was so excited to see the latest part, Bushel Full of Murder!! I just know you are going to love this series as much as I do.

From the back of the book:

This summer, Becca is looking forward to selling her delicious jams and preserves, but things are changing fast at the farmers’ market. A fleet of food trucks has arrived for a two week visit, peddling cupcakes, tacos, chicken wings, and more—including a gourmet hot dog  truck operated by Becca’s own cousin, Peyton.

Tensions between truck operators and market vendors over their required licenses reach a crescendo when the town’s  business  manager is murdered. With Peyton already under suspicion of stealing money and a secret recipe from the restaurant where she worked in Arizona, the cops start grilling her as their prime suspect. Now it’s up to Becca to clear her cousin and find out who at the market gave themselves a license to kill…

My thoughts:

This series has one of my favorite amateur sleuths in Becca who is always so much fun and so spunky no matter what she is facing. I have always loved the farmer's market setting and from the very start the entire cast of characters drew me in. In this part Becca is trying to help solve a murder to prove her cousin Peyton is innocent of not only murder but also theft and assault. So it becomes very personal.

In addition to having fabulous character interactions, this was also paced very well. I literally stayed up all night trying to see what was going to happen. I didn't see the end coming but it fit and I was happy with the conclusion. I totally cannot wait to see what other 'jams' Becca can get herself and her friends out of next time. And, of course, you will find delicious recipes in the back of the book.

Take some time to browse the other great mysteries available from Berkley Prime Crime. While you are there, you can sign up for the newsletter so you never miss a new release. I must warn you though, after browsing my wish list is longer than I could probably read. You can also connect with them on Twitter where can happen across a fun giveaway as well.
