Writing All Wrongs by Ellery Adams

Sometimes when I see an author's name, I don't even have to read what the book is about, I just know I will want it, I will read it, and I will love it. That is how I felt when I saw there was a new part in the Book By the Bay Mystery series by Ellery Adams. I instantly snatched up Writing All Wrongs and read it in one day!

From the back of the book:

The New York Times bestselling author of Lethal Letters returns to the North Carolina Coast, where aspiring novelist and amateur sleuth Olivia Limoges discovers crime doesn’t take a vacation . . .

After Olivia and Chief Rawlings enjoy a brief honeymoon on Palmetto Island, they’re joined by the rest of the Bayside Book Writers for the Coastal Carolina Crime Festival. The festival’s highlight is Silas Black, celebrity screenwriter and television producer, who is currently working on a popular television show in North Carolina.

As the festival gets under way, a trickster seems to be bringing famous local ghost stories to life. But when the body of a woman close to Black is found on the beach, Olivia and her friends must deduce who on the island could resort to murder—before the sands of time run out for someone else…

My thoughts:

I love local legends. I also love a good ghost story and, of course, I love a good murder mystery too. All of those things are found in this book, as well as a wonderful cast of characters. It was really easy for me to sink into this mystery since the story was so well crafted and the characters came to life as did the beautiful setting.

I found it so easy to relate to Olivia and her friends which made the tension ratchet up a lot as they tried to sort things out. There were actually some genuinely creepy parts, which I appreciated a lot. I am a huge fan of Ellery Adams because she never fails to deliver an interesting mystery, with good characters, and a page turning pace. I am glad to report that this book was no exception!

If you haven't read Ellery yet, I suggest you hop right in as you don't need to read the other parts to sink into this fun tale. I just know you will love it and probably, as I do, seek out more of her books!

Take some time to browse the other great mysteries available from Berkley Prime Crime. While you are there, you can sign up for the newsletter so you never miss a new release. I must warn you though, after browsing my wish list is longer than I could probably read. You can also connect with them on Twitter where can happen across a fun giveaway as well.
