Murder, She Wrote: Killer in the Kitchen (Murder, She Wrote #43) by Jessica Fletcher & Donald Bain

I'm going to guess I don't have to tell you about the Murder, She Wrote Series or about who Jessica Fletcher is. Murder, She Wrote: Killer in the Kitchen (Murder, She Wrote #43) by Jessica Fletcher & Donald Bain is available now in paperback. That's right number forty three!

From the back of the book:

In the latest in the "USA Today" bestselling series, someone writes a recipe for murder.

Jessica loves the Fin & Claw restaurant, owned by young Cabot Cove couple Brad and Marcie. The eatery is the couple's dream come true, but it's quickly turning into a nightmare.

Famed chef Gerard Pepe Lebeouf has decided to open his new bistro right next to theirs. Given the competition, the charming chef's manner son turns sour. Tensions rise fast and hot, until they boil over, leading to a nasty confrontation between Lebeouf and Brad.

So when one chef is found with a knife planted in his chest, the other becomes the prime suspect. But there's a long list of those who had a motive to kill in this kitchen war, and it's up to Jessica to uncover who really added murder to the menu.

My thoughts:

I do love my foodie cozies and so when I saw the title of this one I was pretty excited. I already knew that I loved the soft spoken but so intuitive amateur sleuth Jessica. I really enjoyed puzzling over the clues of this one. It was a pretty hard one to figure out as it had a lot of good suspects with real reasons.

The setting and characters made it easy to fall into the story, enjoying the mystery well into the night. I mentioned the setting and for fans or new readers it will be a delight that this one is in Cabot Cove. If you are a fan you will enjoy the familiar setting and if you are new I am sure you will come to love it as much as I do.

You can jump into this series at any point without feeling lost. I can fully recommend this one. Start here start at any part, but I am pretty certain if you love cozies you will adore Jessica and read them all.

Take some time to browse the other great mysteries available from Berkley Prime Crime. While you are there, you can sign up for the newsletter so you never miss a new release.
