Gone With the Witch (A Wishcraft Mystery #6) by Heather Blake

Para-cozies are so my thing! I just love everything paranormal and when you mix it with that cozy mystery magic it's, well, magical. Gone With the Witch (A Wishcraft Mystery #6) by Heather Blake had everything I want in a cozy with that lovely dash of the paranormal that makes my heart happy.

From the back of the book:

The national bestselling author of Some Like It Witchy returns as wish-granting witch Darcy Merriweather is put to the test after murder takes first prize at a pet show. . . .

Darcy and her dog Missy are determined to put their best foot forward at the Enchanted Village’s annual Pawsitively Enchanted pet contest. She’s happy to lend a hand when the show’s organizer hires Darcy to keep an eye on things among growing suspicions that someone is sabotaging the event. But Darcy’s quest for justice is thrown off the scent when her lead suspect is found dead at the competition.

As if a murder weren’t bad enough, someone begins snatching up prize-winning pets right from under their owners’ noses. Darcy is determined to protect the pampered participants at whatever cost. But she’ll have to work fast to sniff out the thief before she becomes the next victim of a killer determined to stop her dead in her tracks.

My thoughts:

This series has been a perfect mix of paranormal and cozy mystery right from the start. I simply adore the characters, I love the dash of romance and the magical flavor. It all adds so much to the cozy elements, while still blending into one seamless believable story-line. In addition to awesome characters this series has one of those idyllic settings, bodies aside, cozy fans just expect bodies, they don't alter the charm.

While I didn't solve it, it was a well paced, page turning mystery with both a murder and trying to find out who was pup-napping. In the back of the book was a teaser for the next part! October! How will I wait? If you have waited this long to get started on this series, I suggest you use the time to catch up on all the parts.
