Black Frangipani Heart Mirror from Novica

You guys already know that I love Novica but everything that I own from them is jewelry. I decided that since I love my jewelry so much, I would venture into some of their home goods and I am so glad that I did! This Black Frangipani Heart mirror is by Sarwaedi of Indonesia. The carved part is made from Suar wood and the glass mirror is attached to smooth plywood.

This came packaged very carefully and wrapped very well, which I definitely appreciate. As always, the amount of detail put into the carving is stunning. Novica's artisans are easily the best of the best. They are extremely talented and create pieces that are beautiful. I am on a mission to fill my house up with their amazing products! ImiKas 3 Setting Electric Pencil Sharpener

We go through some pencils in this house! My boyfriend is an artist so he is always sketching something and when those sketches are done and inked in, I take them and add in the color with colored pencils. Usually we use little handheld pencil sharpeners, but when ImiKas offered me the chance to review their 3 Setting Electric Pencil Sharpener, I couldn't refuse! I despise those little handheld sharpeners!

This sharpener comes with the ability to run off of 4 AA batteries, a USB cable, or an AC plug-in. I really like the versatility and it has come in handy quite a few times! The sharpener looks sleek, and is compact and lightweight, so it won't take up much room on your desk, or in your bag. Though it is not completely silent, it is not very loud and sharpens your pencils in just a few seconds. I also really like that it stops once the pencil is fully sharpened, so you can't over-sharpen and break off the tip.

There are 3 different settings for sharpness, and though there are slight differences in each, I don't see it making a huge difference. Either way, I love how perfectly sharp this gets your pencils! I don't know why I never thought of getting an electric pencil sharpener, but I am spoiled now and not looking back! Deluxe Cook V-Blade Mandoline Slicer

Being a vegetarian, I obviously cook with a lot of vegetables. Also, since I have a preference for fresh over frozen produce, I find my self in the kitchen a lot chopping up my veggies. Also, having two young children, they like it when their food is in different shapes. Apple "chips" are more fun than apple wedges, right? Because of all of this, when I was offered the chance to try out the Deluxe Cook V-Blade Mandoline Slicer, I couldn't say no! 

This mandoline slicer comes with four different cutter sizes and a little storage container for the three you aren't currently using. I really like that because I have a tendency to misplace things! There is also a hand guard included which I recommend you always use. These blades are super sharp and you will fly through your veggies and have your hand close to the blade before you know it. The sharp blade makes using this fast and efficient but it can also be dangerous without the hand guard.

The first two inserts are for different size slices, or chips. The sizes are 1.5mm and 3.5mm. These inserts don't have blades on them but vary in thickness to provide the different sizes. I like to use the thinner one to create crunchy veggie chips which you can eat raw, fry, or bake in the oven. The thicker one is great for my children. They love their apple "chips", which I just serve raw. You can also use this for making stir-fry veggies!

The next two inserts have little blades on them arranged in a "v" shape. These create two different sized julienne slices: 3 x 3mm and 6 x 6mm. The smaller one is great for hashbrowns and salad veggies and the bigger one is perfect for making snacks or veggies for meals. Yet again, these blades are very sharp so please always use the hand guard!

WonderVeg Three Blade Spiralizer

I love me some veggies and after I cut out most meats (I eat a pescatarian diet), I enjoy finding new ways to enjoy the vegetables that I already love. I recently got the chance to try out the WonderVeg Three Blade Spiralizer and I am quite impressed. I have tried handheld spiralizers to little or no avail but I am glad to report that this one is great!

This spiralizer comes with three blades, an instruction and recipe book, and a pink cleaning brush. I love that they include a brush because those blades can be hard to clean without it! There is a built in storage compartment that holds the two spare blades while the other is in use. There are also suction cups on each of the four feet which is great because you don't have to worry about it sliding around during use! 

The plastic is BPA-free and stain resistant and all of the parts are dishwasher safe, as well! You secure your veggie to the circular notch on the blade and then stick the little spikes into the other end. Using a little pressure, push forward (toward the blade), while turning the crank. The blades are very sharp, so much work is not involved to get great, consistent results. One of the issues I have run into before was dull blades that required much more work and didn't work very well, often turning my veggies into mush! You don't have to worry about that with the WonderVeg!

The three blades included all yield different results. The plain looking blade gives you ribbons which are great for salad and making chips. The blade with the bigger triangles makes a thicker noodle (or as I like to call them when made out of zucchini, zoodles), and the last blade, with the smaller triangles, makes a thinner pasta. I love the versatility! Shrimp and vegetable scampi with zoodles is to die for! All of the deliciousness without the carbs!
