Holinox Millennium Falcon Decal

It is no secret that I love Star Wars, so when I saw the Millennium Falcon Decal from Holinox, I had to have it! This sticker is 7" high by 5" wide and fit perfectly on my iPad Mini. Since my laptop is black, I opted for my tablet and I think it is a perfect size for it!

This decal is wonderfully detailed and super easy to apply. First, I cleaned my iPad with an alcohol wipe. After it dried, I positioned and applied the decal. Before you stick it down well, you can reposition it but be careful because once this adheres, it isn't going anywhere!

After getting the positioning down, I easily got rid of any bubbles by running a credit card over them. I love how it looks on my tablet! It's like it was sized perfectly for it. I think it would look great on a laptop or car window as well!

This decal from Holinox is awesome and the Star Wars lover in your life is sure to love it! The price is even awesome as well! You can pick this up on Amazon, where it is currently 42% off!

Pure Terror Collection from Mill Creek

As you may well know, my old favorite genre will always be horror. I am not talking about gory slash ‘em up horror. I am talking about classic creepy and even at times silly horror. My favorites often include Lugosi, Karloff, Cushing and of course Lee. That is also leaving out a lot of greats because they really were a different class in times past.

When you are looking for any type of movie collection nothing I have found compares to the values you can find in the Mill Creek collections. The cost per movie usually works out to less than a dollar when you are looking at the lager collections. Seriously for less than the cost of a night at the movies you will get over 70 hours of entertainment.

The 70 hour collection spans from black and white classics of the forties up to the fun features of the eighties. You will find well known names like Lugosi, Steele and even Dean Stockwell from one of my favorite Sci-Fi shows: Quantum Leap.

As luck would have it, the set arrived during a time which is just perfect for an all day marathon of creepy movies. So for my first day I put in some of the black and white treasures like Terror Creatures From the Grave, Scared to Death, Night of the Blood Beast, and The Manster! With these fun and creepy titles I had a whole day of awesome, relaxing, and creepy viewing.

Of course with 50 movies to pick from, you could even set up to have a day of all… say… vampire movies or even monster movies. Regardless of how you set it up this set will give you days of pleasure and these are the type of movies I can watch over and over. I would be hard pressed to pick a favorite from this set because the types of movies found here are so varied. Heck, you will even find some fun Paul Naschy!! It is really all win.

For a full list of titles in this set and details please visit the listing on Mill CreekMake sure you browse the full selection of titles from Mill Creek Entertainment while you are there. You will find everything from family and classics, to horror and sci-fi! Make sure you stay connected with them on Facebook and Twitter too so that you never miss a new release.

Halloween has always been one of my favorite holidays. I remember when I was growing up we used to love the special Halloween episodes of our favorite TV shows. We always sat down as a family to watch them with some traditional Halloween munchies like popcorn balls and candy apples.

This year I got to take a magic trip back in time to watch some of my favorite old shows' Halloween specials thanks to the TV Guide Spotlight TV’s Spookiest Halloween Episodes Collection from Mill Creek. It even had some shows that I somehow missed but will be looking for now.

This collection has 13 episodes, of course 13, it is Halloween after all. The featured shows are Bewitched, I Dream of Jeannie, The Jeffersons, Square Pegs, The Facts of Life, Married With Children, Roseanne, The Cosby Show, News Radio, Mad About You, 3rd Rock From the Sun, Ned and Stacey, and That 70s Show. Plus it is only $9.98 which makes it a fantastic value.

What I really loved is that the collections is so varied. In addition to having my old favorites, I got to catch a glimpse at shows I had never seen before like Ned and Stacy and Square Pegs. Witch's Night Out on DVD from Mill Creek

It’s probably not a surprise to you all that Fall is my favorite time of year and Halloween has always been my favorite holiday. There is just something so magical about getting to be whatever you want for the day. In fact, no one has ever been able to convince me that I am too old to dress up.

Getting to be whatever you want is the topic of great cartoon I just had the pleasure to watch! Witch’s Night Out is available for the first time on DVD from Mill Creek. I had really thought I have seen every single Halloween special out there, but I guess I was wrong because I hadn't seen this one yet.

Witch’s Night Out is a fully animated cartoon that starts Gilda Radner as the Witch! I love Gilda, who doesn't? This originally aired on NBC in October 1978. The basic premise is that there’s a party at the Witch’s haunted mansion and she is the star of the show by letting the children be whatever they want for Halloween… for real. What could go wrong? … You will have to watch and see!

In addition to this fun feature the DVD also has great bonus material. There is a Witch’s Night Out comic book and several bonus cartoons including:  Casper the Friendly Ghost: There's Good Boos To-Night - The Friendly Ghost - Boo Moon, Felix The Cat: Skulls and Sculls, Hoppity Hooper: Ghost, Space Angel: The Ghost and Crystal Mace, Popeye the Sailor Man: Spooky Swabs, New 3 Stooges: Mummies Boys, and Meany, Miny & Moe: House of Magic.

Make sure you head over to browse the full selection of titles from Mill Creek Entertainment on their website. You will find everything from family and classics, to horror and sci-fi! Make sure you stay connected with them on Facebook and Twitter too so that you never miss a new release.

Mill Creek Entertainment / The Adventures of Sherlock Holmes

I love Sherlock Holmes! So much so in fact, that I just crocheted myself a Sherlock hat. I tend to prefer more classic Sherlock and think I have narrowed down my favorite to either Ronald Howard or Basil Rathbone. Finding great Sherlock sets is really easy if you know about Mill Creek Entertainment.

You have probably heard me rave about the fantastic sets they offer and how awesome the prices are and I would venture a guess you have probably seen Mill Creek sets in the store or on your favorite online retailer. When you are ready for your next, or even your first Sherlock Holmes set I have to recommend The Adventures of Sherlock Holmes from Mill Creek Entertainment.

First, you get 39 fantastic episodes of The Adventures of Sherlock Holmes series featuring Ronald Howard as Holmes and the best ever Watson, in my opinion, Howard Marion-Crawford. You really, seriously, can’t go wrong with almost twenty hours of the awesome team. It is black and white, from 1954, and filled with all of the charm I expect from TV from that time. Lestrade, everyone’s favorite inspector had me chuckling a time or twenty as well. I can see watching the whole series more than a few times.

Every Girl Needs A Sherlock Hat!
The series alone would make this set worth having so the four feature films are a really nice bonus. The first three movies star Arthur Wontner as Sherlock. Murder At Baskervilles (1937), one of my favorite and often retold, also stars Ian Fleming as Watson. The Triumph of Sherlock Holmes (1935) also stars Ian Fleming as Watson.

The Sign of Four (1932) Has Ian Hunter as Watson to Arthur Wantner’s Holmes. The fourth movie was a lot of fun for me because it had Basil Rathbone, who I did mention I love in the role. It was The Woman in Green which had Nigel Bruce playing Watson. Really you can’t go wrong with any of the four on a lazy afternoon. I watched them while the thunder roared outside and it was pure heaven.

Mill Creek Entertainment / Gamera Legacy Collection

You all know I love the old sci-fi monster movies with a great passion. They are always so much fun to watch and re-watch. Very recently our Spring was interrupted for another dash of winter. I wasn't sad though because I have a great new collection from Mill Creek Entertainment and it gave me lots to do when I was pinned in on those cold days. I am talking about the Gamera: Legacy Collection! Gamera! I know right, how awesome is that?

The set includes Gamera: The Giant Monster (1965), Gamera vs. Barugon (1966), Gamera vs. Gyaos (1967), Gamera vs. Viras (1968), Gamera vs. Guiron (1969), Gamera vs. Jiger (1970), Gamera vs. Zigra (1971), Gamera: Super Monster (1980), Gamera: Guardian of the Universe (1995), Gamera 2: Attack of Legion (1996) and Gamera 3: Revenge of Iris (1999). This is the first time these eleven movies have ever been offered together in one collection!

Just in case you might not know, Gamera is a turtle looking monster that walks on two legs and can fly. He does occasionally walk quadrupedally in his first three films. `Plus he has an awesome pair of large tusks protruding upward from the lower jaws. You really have to see him to appreciate him in his full glory.

Gamera: The Giant Monster (1965) Gamera made his first appearance here which was also the only Gamera film to be in black-and-white. The movie begins showing bombers of the U.S.S.R. being intercepted by American fighters and one of the bombers crashes. The nuclear blast releases a giant turtle from suspended animation in the ice and so the story begins in full.

Gamera vs. Barugon (1966) While he was once feared this time Gamera returns to Earth to save it from the malevolent monster Barugon who is able to freeze anything its path. Barugon, demon dog from Hell is armed with a deadly tongue and cold beams, wreaks havoc on Japan. This is must watch monster madness.

Gamera vs. Gyaos (1967) The third entry of this classic monster series continues when a volcanic eruption awakens Gyaos, who is a gigantic vampire-like bat who likes blood. Gyaos is Gamera’s most popular foe because he is just awesome fun to watch and thankfully he is in four more films (not counting the stock footage in SUPER MONSTER).

Gamera vs. Viras (1968) In this one aliens take two boy scouts hostage to blackmail Gamera into aiding their invasion of Earth. When that plan fails, the giant alien leader Viras who reminds me of a squid battles the flying turtle in a duel to the death.

Gamera vs. Guiron (1969) Two young boys board a spaceship and are hijacked to a strange planet on the other side of the sun. While the boys try to stay away from two brain-hungry alien beauties, Gamera must deal with a knife-nosed monster named Guiron. I have seen this movie so many times and each time I find it highly entertaining.

Gamera vs. Jiger (1970) The fire-breathing action continues as Gamera battles one of his greatest foes, Jiger, a horned monster that reminds me of the Triceratops. Drawn to the World Expo in Osaka by an ancient statue, the evil reptile injects Gamera with its parasitic offspring to eliminate the super turtle.

Gamera vs. Zigra (1971) The shark-like alien Zigra attacks Earth to enslave the human race as food. Aided by spacewoman X-1, Zigra’s wicked plan goes swimmingly until the invaders are challenged by Gamera and confounded by two trouble making kids.

Gamera: Super Monster (1980) The final entry of the Showa Gamera series plays as a highlight reel reviving all of the previous evil monsters. When the alien Zanon tries to conquer Earth with an army of monsters, three superwomen enlist the help of Gamera to foil the invader’s plans.

Gamera: Guardian of the Universe (1995) Gamera is back with a vengeance as he takes on both a misguided military and a trio of hideous, man-eating flying monsters. This is another one that I found to be extremely fun to watch.

Gamera 2: Attack of Legion (1996) A freak meteor shower brings with it electrical problems, overgrown plant life and a whole slew of rather irritable critters that drop in to threaten the human race. It’s up to Gamera to destroy the bugged-out invaders.

Gamera 3: Revenge of Iris (1999) The Gyaos have returned along with a new, tentacled super-monster named Iris. Dr. Nagamine and Asagi Kusanagi are reunited to help Gamera in his relentless quest to stop his enemies from overrunning the Earth.

This collection really is must have for Sci Fi fans. You will get hours, over sixteen in fact, of fantastic, fun Gamera and his super fun to watch battles with his foes. These are afternoon popcorn movies at their best. And if you have never seen Gamera this is a great way to see them all in one collection for a super value. Check your local movie retail or online shop to get your copy now.

Mill Creek Entertainment / Animal Apocalpse

You all know I am a horror fan. Horror comes in it’s own genres and while I do love them all I have some favorites. I love creature features, both real and imaginary creatures. Do you also like creature features or more specifically animal attack horror? If so you will want to grab Animal Apocalypse from Mill Creek Entertainment.  I was so excited when I got this set and I was not disappointed. In the set you will find four fun movies:

Bats: Human Harvest (2007) is a made for TV squeal to Bats and starts out like an action military type movie with a specially trained solider scouring the Russian forest looking for a fanatical weapons specialist and then turns into one of my favorite type of movies - a creature feature with killer animals. As the title suggests they find themselves being, well, eaten by a huge mass of genetically altered killer bats. It has some very campy elements that are present in most creature features and make it a whole lot of fun. I mean seriously how can you go wrong with loads and loads of killer bats?

Kaw (2007) is a really fun Sci-Fi channel creature feature about a flock of ravens that is hungry for  human flesh and killing the people of a small town. There are some good characters that make this a really fun watch. I enjoyed some of the dark eerier scenes as well as the daylight looks at the birds. I love killer bird movies and ravens are one of  my favorites. These clever birds really give the sheriff and townspeople a run for domination of the town. The motivation of the ravens isn't revealed until later in movie so I won’t spoil that for you. There is a decent amount of blood and gore considering these are birds and that makes this one great fun.

Fatal Contact: Bird Flu in America (2006) is such a scary topic to me because I am one of those hand washing, Lysol spraying people who is afraid of germs. The basic idea behind this movie is to show what could happen if the bird flu became contagious and spread to people across the globe. Since the spread of flu is something that is a very real threat it gives it a level of reality that makes it pretty creepy to watch. For a made for television movie I really liked it, I tend to like made for TV movies in general, though. The characters were easy to like/relate to and the effects were good enough that I feel good about recommending giving this one a watch.

Nightwing (1979) is a movie that I had seen before but it has been a while so I was able to enjoy revisiting this one. There are a few things going on this movie, the first and probably the main point is the killer vampire bats that are attacking and killing both animals and people. There are also underlying stories that involve mythology of the Indians and the mistreatment of resources. I really do like this movie and the characters. I think they effectively made the bats scary, especially the final bat showdown in the cave which I found to be very intense.

As a whole this set is all win and a great way to spend the weekend. It’s pretty rare to find a compilation set where you enjoy each movie in the set, so I have to say bravo Mill Creek!  If you are looking for something new to watch you can browse the full selection of titles from Mill Creek Entertainment on their website. You will find everything from family and classics, to horror and sci-fi! Make sure you stay connected with them on Facebook and Twitter too so that you never miss a new release.

Mill Creek Entertainment / Bewitched Season 1 & 2

I don’t think I am the only one who would say they sure don’t make television like they used to. I find nothing more relaxing than an afternoon watching classic television. Even a show about a witch like, Bewitched was just pure innocent fun. Thanks to Mill Creek Entertainment you can get shows like Bewitched for a fabulous value in great sets like the one I have which has both seasons one and two of Bewitched.

I have probably already seen every single episode at least once but I had forgotten a lot, especially from the first episodes in these early seasons. For many of them, it was like watching them for the first time. In the set of six discs are the first seventy four episodes, which will provide you with hours laughter, and if you are like me it will bring back a lot of childhood memories. Even just hearing the opening and closing music makes me smile.

The episode where Darrin meets Endora for the first time had me and my husband laughing out loud. I love Endora and all of the hilarious chaos she starts for 'what’s his name.' Speaking of what’s his name, Dick York is just perfect in this role, he will always be Darrin to me. His facial expressions really are awesome. But the star of course is Elizabeth Montgomery and when I was little I wanted  to be a witch just like Samantha. I wasn't alone either, many of my friends tried to master the nose wiggle.

The series is filled  with warm, unforgettable characters like the nosy neighbor Gladys, Aunt Clara, and Uncle Author.  I think Gladys is my favorite of the supporting characters, always yelling for her husband Abner who never seems to look in time to see the witchcraft  at work. Plus there are numbers fabulous single episode characters, like Greta Chi who plays a cat that gets turned into a lady in the season one episode Ling-Ling. She did an awesome job playing a fun role.

Do you have a favorite episode? Are you looking for some great television to watch? If you are looking for something new to watch you can browse the full selection of titles from Mill Creek Entertainment on their website. You will find everything from family and classics, to horror and sci-fi! Make sure you stay connected with them on Facebook and Twitter too so that you never miss a new release.

Mill Creek Entertainment / Freakshow Cinema

Step right up to the gore-filled freak show, my fellow horror loving movie goers! Mill Creek Entertainment has released, for the first time together in this 3 DVD horror set, 12 creepy midnight movie equaling over 16 hours of sideshow fun! You will find everything from demons to vampires, and even my favorite - zombies.

Up first disc one:

Tales of the Dead: Grim Stories of Curses, Horror and Gore (2010) This is a UK based, anthology type movie with four shorts. What it lacks in budget it makes up for in heart, for sure. The stories are told from five friends that have gathered on Halloween to continue their ritual of telling horror stories. The first story, Less is More, about a woman totally driven to have a bizarre and dangerous surgery and while not unflawed it was one of my favorites. Cry Wolf, had a fun premise of blurred reality with monsters and clowns (yikes) but it really suffered from it's low budget which wasn't helped by the acting. Penance, being a direct homage to Giallo, which happens to be a favorite genre of mine, easily wound it way around my heart despite it's odd ending. Up last is Cromwell’s Curse, which is a found footage type story about a cursed movie. I really liked this one even if it was a bit dark in places. Overall for this type of budget I’d put this anthology somewhere middle of the road and certainly worth a look for die hards like me who have to see every horror movie remotely worth a peek.

Zombie Genocide: Legion of the Damned (2012) is a low budget zombie flick that is about a biochemical terrorist attack where the virus spreads across the continent turning thousands of people into a horrific flesh-eating army of the dead. This is not for fans of only Hollywood type zombie movies as there are serious flaws in the acting, pacing, and overall filming issues associated  with low budget horror. If you are a someone who watches a lot of horror, this one may look a bit familiar as it was released before as Deadlands: The Rising and I didn't see a difference between the two versions. This was great for a giggle with friends over pizza and a drink.

The Curse of Blanchard Hill (2006) The basic premise here is that a group of campers take a hike to Blanchard Hill, unaware that a killer, being used by nature to take revenge on the abusive white men, is on the loose. This one was a lot of fun for me because it was an awesome mix of lots of gore/blood and some of the most hilarious dialogue I have heard in a long while. Ranger Fred was a real hoot to listen to. Low budget gore hounds will find this one a real treat. Get your popcorn ready.

Idol of Evil: Hell Is Forever (2009) David Hilton, a mythological expert, is called on by the Vatican to help save his friend Dr. Kixley who was kidnapped by dangerous Satanists. For low budget the acting in this is above par as is the editing/filming in general. This really was more of an adventure type movie than horror but I still enjoyed the story.

Disk Two:

Below Ground: Demon Holocaust (2012) is about a small group of people who are struggling to survive a demonic infestation. This was  a lot of talking heads with a very little bit of demon infestations. Considering it was so character driven they could have had at least one likable person in the group. You can safely skip this one without missing much.

Order Of One: Kung Fu Killing Spree (2011) really doesn't belong in a horror set as it is more of an action/comedy. It is about Sonny and Ross standing in the way of the city's crime lord, Mr. Park, and his desire to possess the spear that pierced the side of Jesus on the Cross. The spear gives unspeakable power to whomever touches it. It does have some fun comical elements during the fight scenes but if you are looking for horror this will disappoint you.

Cold Creepy Feeling: Paranormal Exorcism (2011) is about  a young couple who move to the country for the quiet life, but paranormal visions and voices quickly turn the house of their dreams into a nightmare. They try an exorcism but that only makes matters worse. Sounds good right? Not so much. Sadly, this movie was tremendously harmed by it’s filming and the lead actress who took bad to a whole new level. It’s not the worst I have seen and could be fun with the right group of friends, cold beer, and popcorn.

Indemnity: Rage Of A Jealous Vampire (2011) William’s ex-girlfriend Angela wants him dead and it seems she's more than capable of just that as she relentlessly pursues him on a terror trek across the U.S. This had a fun story and I really enjoyed watching it. There wasn't a lot of gore but there was a lot of heart. This one wins the award for best movie on disc two, easily.

Disk Three:

Glitter Goddess: Queen Of The Sunset Strip (1991) this is more along the sideshow vein than a horror movie as it is a docudrama about a frustrated lady who rebels by worshiping Alice Cooper, and becoming one of the most prolific rock and roll groupies of the 1970s. As far as novelty goes it was a pretty interesting story about sexual frustration in a time when people were not as able to be open as they are today.

Dark Measures: Gang Warfare (2012) is about Molly who survives a brutal attack from a gang, but it’s not over yet. They want her dead and are determined to kill her. This is an action movie with no real gore but it has a whole lot of heart. I really liked the main character and her bravery. The story was decent and well done on a low budget. It's another of what I call "popcorn and beer" flicks.

By the Devils Hands: The 666 Killer (2011) This movie picks up twenty-five years after, the mysterious 666 Killer went on a six woman killing spree. With the Killer's thirst for blood renewed, only one lady stands in his way.  I won’t say this was my favorite but it was probably the most effective at being disturbing. The scenes with the killer were particularly upsetting and well done.

Tuck Bushman and the Legend of Piddledown Dale (2009) Tuck Bushman is an out of work TV presenter and creature hunter. Now the mayor of a small Yorkshire village is offering a reward to the person who can capture what is causing disturbances in his village. This one was the most fun I think, as it deliberately set out to be as campy as possible. Anyone who likes camp should get a kick out this movie.

Overall this was a nice mix which should have something for everyone. If you are looking for something new to watch you can browse the full selection of titles from Mill Creek Entertainment on their website. Mill Creek Entertainment / Guns: The Evolution of Firearms

I fully admit that I devour movies and television. Feeding my viewing addiction can be a bit of challenge but there are ways that I can find lots of quality things to watch without having to break my bank account. One of the best ways to do that is find boxed sets where you can get a lot of things to watch often for less than the cost of one movie. I’ve looked around, a lot, and the best place I have found to get fabulous sets and even single movies is Mill Creek.

I am always amazed with the great prices and the sheer amount of titles they have to pick from. My husband doesn’t watch TV and movies near as often as I do, but there are certain topics he gets excited about and I have even been able to  find titles for him at Mill Creek. I was lucky enough to be sent a variety of titles from the new releases and will be sharing them all with you over the next few weeks.

Today I want to talk to you about the awesome documentary we were sent. The documentary, Guns: The Evolution Of Firearms, was  pulled from the mail and went right into the player.  You already know that my husband and I are very enthusiastic about our guns, and also since it is a relatively new hobby for us we still have a lot to learn. This is a seven part documentary that spans 400 years of history, it is over 4 hours long, and is filled with so many awesome facts.

The first part talks about the invention of gun powder and covers the history of guns through the American rifle. The next episode covers everything from the Flintlock to the Percussion Cap. All of episode three is about the weapons of the Civil War. Episode four starts at post Civil War weapons and ends with the winning of the west.  All of episode five is about the weapons of World War 1. Episode six is about the weapons of World War 2. And the last episode is about post WW2 through to more modern weapons like the carbine.

We actually watched it twice just because there is a lot of information to digest. There was a lot of really fascinating information that I don’t recall from school about how the gun actually shaped American history. I had no idea it played such a big role in the start of the Revolution, I had always thought it was mostly about taxes and tea. I won't giveaway more of the interesting facts because I know you want to watch it for yourself.

If you are looking for something new to watch you can browse the full selection of titles from Mill Creek Entertainment on their website. You will find everything from family and classics, to horror and sci-fi! Make sure you stay connected with them on Facebook and Twitter too so that you never miss a new release.
