Bésame Cosmetics

There is something so beautiful and alluring about the early 1900's. Women seemed to have a confidence radiating from them that made them all the more beautiful. Who wouldn't want to hop into the past and take a little of the beauty for themselves? As far as I know, time travel isn't an option but Bésame Cosmetics is. Bésame Cosmetics was founded in 2004 by Gabriela Hernandez. Her love for vintage beauty shines through in all of her products.

I was more than excited when offered to review Bésame Cosmetics. I was sent a Classic Color Lipstick in Red Velvet, the Souffle Foundation in Medium Beige, a lipstick sampler in Dusty Rose/Exotic Pink, and a Limited Edition Cosmetic Bag. Everything came packaged nice and secure to make sure nothing was damaged. The package also took less than a week to arrive.

The first product that caught my eye was the lipstick. The packaging looked so luxurious and vintage! I loved all of the little details added into all of these products to make them seem that much more genuine. The lipstick came in a velvet pouch within the box. The tube itself is gold with red details on it and it feels very high quality. The color is absolutely stunning. It is a beautiful deep red. It goes on smoothly and lasts a very long time. It also stains your lips for even longer wear time. It is also pretty versatile. You can apply it lightly with your finger for a sheerer red or full on for deep, saturated color. I love this lipstick!

Staying with the lipstick, the next thing I went for was the lipstick sampler. How cute is this? It is shaped like a box of matches and the red tip of the match is your lipstick! I thought this was an absolutely adorable way to allow people to try a lipstick before they buy a full sized tube. No one likes to buy a lipstick and end up not liking the color. These little samplers are a great, and affordable, way to try a lipstick before you buy the full size one!

The product I was most excited for was the foundation. I love trying new foundations and I am pretty pale so finding a good match can be hard. Once I find a good match, finding a finish I am happy with is even more of a challenge. This foundation is about medium coverage but is build-able to a fuller coverage. It does have a yellow undertone so it isn't a perfect match for my skin but a little powder fixed the coloring issues right up. It lasted all day and I didn't find my makeup creasing or wearing away. My only concern with it is that it can transfer quite a bit. I wouldn't touch your face too much when wearing this and I would also make sure to set it with a powder to ensure a flawless face all day. It has a natural, dewy finish which blends in with the skin seamlessly and doesn't look cakey.

The last product I received was this little cosmetic bag. It was a sent out with orders over a certain amount for a limited time. This bag is absolutely adorable and has become my everyday cosmetics bag that I carry around with me. It is a beautiful red with gold details. The bag is very high quality and I have no problems using any of the zippers multiple times per day. It has a handle and two beads hanging off of the outside zipper which makes for a very cute detail.

In all, I am very happy with all of the products that I received from Bésame Cosmetics. I have always loved vintage style and this line plays right into that.
