Knitter's Pride Waves Crochet Hook Set

Hello my lovely crafters. I think I told you when I started knitting that I would also be learning to crochet. I am happy to report that I have started learning to crochet. One thing I have learned from knitting is that you really need a lot of tools. It always seems like I don’t have the right needles for a project. With that said one thing I wanted to ensure before I started to learn crochet was that I had all of the hooks I would need to start most any project I wanted to.

Knitter’s Pride, who always has all of the needles I needed for knitting, also has all of the hooks I need for crochet. I was so very happy to receive a lovely set in the Waves hooks.  The Waves hooks are single ended aluminum hooks, with a smooth silver finish that allows the yarns to slide easily off of them without any hang ups.

The handles of these are simply dreamy to work with. The grips are sturdy yet soft in your hands. They make it so easy to crochet for a good deal of time without my hands getting fatigued or cramped. In addition to being soft, the grips are also colored different for each size. If you need one of the less commonly used sizes they are also available individually in the Waves style as well.

Speaking of sizes, this set has had every single size each pattern I wanted to start needed. It has 9 hooks in sizes C, D, E, F, G, 7, H, I, and J. And they are all neatly packed in an adorable faux leather case which has a see through vinyl panel, and easy open zipper.  Plus, my set is pink and you know that is always a bonus. If you are not a pink type girl, it is also available in florescent green, which we will be giving away right here so hang around to the end for that!

I will be making my husband that custom poncho he asked for but first I wanted to try my hand at a smaller, hopefully easier pattern. So, I pulled out my lovely new set of Waves hooks, grabbed the size I needed and started on a pair of finger-less gloves. This was a really simple pattern using alternating single and double crochets. Chain 31: Row 1 SC in 2nd CH, DC, SC to end of row (30) Row 2-24 Ch 1, SC, DC across end in DC Row 25 & 26 Ch1, SC, DC for 18 Bind off and seam together 18 stitches leave a thumb hole and seam together at the top.

You just can’t imagine how comfy these gloves are and how much more enjoyable they make the already soothing act of crochet! You should really head over to Knitter’s Pride because no matter what kind of needles or hooks you prefer, from metal to wood, single or set they have top quality supplies for you at great prices.  Also make sure you connect with them on Facebook and Twitter because they have such fun promotions and awesome specials.

Now then, I did say giveaway because I just know you lovely crafters want to get your hands on these super comfy hooks! 1. Good for you on learning to crochet. I used to crochet when I was a kid and I still have a small afghan that I made.

  4. I would love to give these crochet hooks a try! They look really comfortable to use with the grips. I've been using the same metal crochet hooks for over 13 years now. Even attempted those grips that slide onto my hooks, but they were of no help, they kept moving and falling off.

Looking forward to seeing more of your crochet/knit creations!

  7. What a lovely set. I really like how colorful they are. I've only ever used the metal ones that can easily slip from your grip. I like that they have one's with soft grips now!
