Mighty Leaf

Being the Southern bred girl that I am, I sure do love some iced, sweet tea. I grew up drinking it and always have two gallons at the ready in my refrigerator. My family was never really big on hot tea so I have always strolled past it in the stores on the way to my favorite iced teabags. Recently, however, I got the chance to try some hot tea and it has become an addiction for my husband and I. Our tea collection is growing and the boxes are stacking up!

My favorite brand so far has definitely got to be Mighty Leaf. Mighty Leaf offers handcrafted, artisan tea blends using only the best whole tea leaves, herbs, and spices. I was sent a gift set including the Taste of the Tropics Sampler and TeaTop Brew Travel Mug. The sampler consists of three, 15-count boxes in the flavors Vanilla Bean, Green Tea Tropical, and Organic African Nectar. The first thing I noticed about Might Leaf's tea was their bags. They aren't like typical tea bags. They are stitched closed with unbleached cotton instead of glue and staples. The bags are compostable and leave adequate room for the tea leaves to unfurl as they brew. One of my favorite additions is the tag featured on each bag that tells you the flavor and optimum brewing time.

My personal favorite of the three was Vanilla Bean which is a blend of black tea and Madagascar vanilla beans. It has a rich black tea flavor that is lightly sweetened by the vanilla. A little fruity and bold made this a perfect tea for anytime of day. My husbands favorite was Green Tea Tropical. He loves his green tea and said this is one of the best he has ever had. The smooth green tea is complimented by sweet fruity notes and makes for a relaxing experience. The Organic African Nectar was a very interesting, super delicious tea. Made with African Rooibos tea, this blend makes a spicy, yet fruity cup of caffeine-free tea which is great for relaxing before bed. We both really enjoyed this blend.

The TeaTop Brew Travel Mug has got to be one of the most ingenious travel mugs I have ever used. The TeaTop lid has a dome for you to pull your used tea bag into after your tea has steeped. The dome keeps the tea bag out of your tea so you don't over-infuse it. I was a little worried the tea bag wouldn't stay in place but once I pulled it through, it sat in the dome and never slipped down. The mug itself is made from double-walled stainless steel which really keeps your tea hot. My tea stayed hot for at least two hours each time I used it. I love that my tea stays perfectly brewed and hot but my hands stay cool on the outside of the mug. I thoroughly recommend this mug for any tea lover that wants to take their delicious tea with them.

I have loved everything I have tried from Mighty Leaf so far and I can't wait to keep trying all of their 36 different flavors! Head over to Mighty Leaf's website and check out all of their awesome flavors and teaware. Also, follow them on Facebook and Twitter.
