Throws Worked in the Round from Leisure Arts

As you know I am totally addicted to making pretty things with yarn. I seem to be really draw to blankets lately and wanted something different to all of the free patterns that are floating around. I really wanted to be able to challenge myself and make something beautiful.

You might remember I told about Leisure Arts and the fabulous selection of craft books they offer. It was a no brainer that, that was where I wanted to look for my next pattern book. Of course it took me a long, but fun, while to sort through all of the choices and settle on just one. Actually, when I say settled on one I mean, settled on one for my next afghan, and made a list of twenty to come back and get next - the selection really is that awesome.

I decided on Throws Worked in the Round which features all throws that start out being worked in the round, which due to my little hat obsession is something I have grown to love. The designs include Weekend-Wonder Giant Granny Square Throw, Colorful Twists and Turns Throw, 7-Point Star Throw, Octagons and Squares Throw, Spectrum Throw, Medallion Circular Afghan, Catherine's Wheel Throw, and Circle Lapghan. I have the feeling that I will be making all of these as soon as time permits because they are all so very pretty.

I was instantly drawn to the Medallion Circular Afghan and it will be my next project as soon I finished the Serenity blanket from the Big Book of Crochet, which is also available from Leisure Arts. I haven’t settled on colors yet but knowing me it will either be browns or purple or maybe both. I think it will make a good summer project because it has an airy look to it. I always like a blanket on the bed, even when it is one hundred degrees outside.

I love that there is a nice variety of looks, as well as skill levels, so that no matter who you are this book will have something at your level and to suit your taste. It is, pardon the pun, well rounded. While you are on the Leisure Arts website, because you know you want this awesome book, make sure you browse the huge selection. There really is something there for every crafter.

Make sure you connect with them on Facebook and Twitter so that you never miss a special or new pattern! Also if you sign up for their knitting or crochet newsletters, you get a free pattern on Fridays!

Disclosure: I may receive products in exchange for an honest review. Regardless, I only recommend products or services I personally believe will be good for my readers.

  7. I never thought about a circular afghan! They are so pretty, and I bet yours will turn out gorgeous when you make it. Everything I have seen that you make is so pretty. If I made one of these, I would love to make it blue. A pretty blanket to sit under!
