Crochet Prayer Shawls from Leisure Arts

Crocheters and crafters, in general, are some of the most giving people I know and the gifts they give offer comfort and the warmth of knowing someone cared enough to make something for you.  One of the things that has caught my eyes lately is prayer shawls. I love the idea of making something with love and prayer.

With the holidays approaching I wanted to find some prayer shawl patterns so I can get started on making some for the retirement residents.  I knew Leisure Arts would have the pattern book I needed - They always ALWAYS do! Crochet Prayer Shawls was exactly what I needed.

There are 15 designs that are created by some of the best designers in the industry. In those 15 designs, you will find there are styles from simple classic looks to some very intricate looking delicate styles, in skill ranges from beginner to more advanced. While Flowers For You and Wisp of a Wrap are first on my list, I absolutely love them all and will be making them to wrap love and prayers around shoulders this winter season.

As with all Leisure Arts books and patterns they are well written and easy to follow with great pictures and even extra instructions for new techniques or stitches that might be challenging. Have you made a shawl before? What do you think of the prayer shawl concept?

No matter what type of craft or pattern you are looking for, take some time to browse Leisure Arts' great selection and make sure you also connect with Leisure Arts on Facebook and Twitter so that you never miss a special or new pattern! Also, if you sign up for their knitting or crochet newsletters, you get a free pattern on Fridays!

Disclosure: I may receive products in exchange for an honest review. Regardless, I only recommend products or services I personally believe will be good for my readers.

  1. Those are some really beautiful patterns, but I don't think I have the patience for them.

  3. I can't crochet worth a darn, so I especially admire those of you who can! I too really like the concept of the person making the shawl praying for the recipient while they are working on the shawl. What a comfort!
