I was recently offered the chance to try CedarLane's new lane of frozen tamales and wow! They sure are delicious! They come in four gluten-free varieties: Sweet Corn, Roasted Vegetable, Spinach & Feta Cheese, and Chile and Cheese. Also, ranging from 220 to 320 calories per serving, these are pretty easy on the waistband! What they lack in calories, they certainly make up for in flavor. These little guys are jam packed with awesome, authentic flavors!
On top of all of this, they are also super easy to make! Remove your tamale from the plastic wrap and wrap it in a damp paper towel. Microwave for 3-3.5 minutes and then let rest for 1 minute before removing the paper towel and corn husk. They are pretty filling but they could be made as a snack or even part of a larger meal. I was really surprised with how fresh they tasted! They tasted as though I slaved away all day to make a meal! You can really tell that they use all natural ingredients.
My favorite was the Roasted Vegetable, which is pictured. After that, the Sweet Corn was my second favorite. I let my husband be the taste tester on the Chile & Cheese since I don't do spicy things and he said they were awesome and had a great kick to them without totally covering all of the flavor. My husband also tried the Spinach & Feta Cheese since I'm not a fan of feta and said they were delicious as well!
If you are looking to step up your frozen food game, or just looking for something delicious, I would definitely give CedarLane a try. I know that my family and I liked these enough, that I will be looking for more of their products to try. Check out CedarLane's website to see their full line of products. Also, follow them on Facebook and Twitter to never miss any news!
