When you think about the person who you are making something for, even if that someone is yourself, sometimes the yarns at locals shops just don't speak to you. There is something intoxicating about a unique colorway that has been hand dyed by another artist.
Now if you are like me, I don't have a local shop where I can find exclusive luxury yarns. Thankfully, there is A Good Yarn. They offer many exclusive colorways right in their online shop. What is really fantastic is that many of them are inspired by the underwater photography of the owner's husband, or local places of interest, and even sports teams!
Plus, they also have their new exclusive yarn base called A Good Yarn Fingering, which is dyed by Katie of Yarn Love. As you might imagine, browsing the shop online is a pure joy that could only be topped by getting your hands on these lovely yarns.
The yarn I was blessed enough to get my hands on is from Lorna's Laces Hand Dyed Yarns and is in the colorway A Good Beach. This colorway comes from a combination of the magnificent white beach and natural shell colors from Siesta Beach sent to Lorna’s Laces. I have the Shepherd Stock which is a super fine #1 weight and is approximately 430 yards. The blend is 80% superwash merino wool and 20% nylon and it feels heavenly to work with.
I can imagine about a million beautiful ways to use this special yarn. Yarn lovers, you really need to head over and find that perfect yarn for your next project and, I must tell you, if you are shopping for a crafter, nothing says I love you like a thoughtful picked out hand dyed yarn like this one or the many others you can find at A Good Yarn.
Disclosure: I may receive products in exchange for an honest review. Regardless, I only recommend products or services I personally believe will be good for my readers.
