Animal Lovie Blankets From Leisure Arts

I am so in love with the idea of lovies! Have you seen these yet? They are adorable small blankets with the head of a stuffy in the center so your little one can carry this little cuddly friend with them everywhere. As someone who had a security blanket, I totally get this idea and really wanted to make one for the grand babies.

I found Animal Lovie Blankets at Leisure Arts which has seven patterns for lovies!! Each blanket is a simple granny square with the toy attached at the center. Yolanda Soto-Lopez of All Crafts Channel on YouTube has designed these patterns which include: Puppy, Bunny, Kitty, Lamb, Panda, Owl, and Brown Bear. The designs feature medium weight and bulky yarns.

Plus, all of these designs are easy and beginner friendly! They work up super fast too. I made the puppy one for my grandson in one afternoon at a leisurely pace. He wanted one in green and I had some camo handy so here is the end result of the puppy pattern done in camo. I will also be making the kitty in purple for my granddaughter.

Every single one is so cute I just know I will be coming back to the book many times! Have you ever made a lovie? What type did you make?

Take some time to browse Leisure Arts' great selection and make sure you also connect with Leisure Arts on Facebook and Twitter so that you never miss a special or new pattern! Also, if you sign up for their knitting or crochet newsletters, you get a free pattern on Fridays!

Disclosure: I may receive products in exchange for an honest review. Regardless, I only recommend products or services I personally believe will be good for my readers.

  1. Oh, these ook adorable! Must go quick, too, if it took you just one afternoon to finish. I must look into this! Thanks!
