Town in a Cinnamon Toast (A Candy Holliday Mystery #7) by B.B. Haywood

Hello Cozy fans! There is a new part in the New York Times Bestselling Series by B.B. Haywood. Town in a Cinnamon Toast (A Candy Holliday Mystery #7) is a charming addition to the much loved series.

From the back of the book:

The author of Town in a Sweet Pickle brings back Candy Holliday, a blueberry farmer with a green thumb for sleuthing...

The much-anticipated wedding of local resident Maggie Tremont and popular baker Herr Georg has stirred up the usually quiet coastal town of Cape Willington. To make sure the wedding of the year goes off without a hitch, the participants gather at a pre-wedding dinner—everyone, that is, except the best man...

Worried, Candy, the maid of honor, goes looking for him, finally tracking him down to the upstairs archive rooms at the English Point Lighthouse and Museum. There’s only one problem: he’s dead, struck over the head with a bottle of champagne, the same exclusive brand that was ordered for the dinner. Before the wedding plans fall flat, Candy rushes to find the murderer, unearthing a conspiracy that could spill over into the whole town...

My thoughts:

I started this series here and, while the murder mystery is self contained, I would strongly suggest, to get the full tension intended, you start at book two, if not one. There is a deep town mystery that has been woven in the story, as explained in the back of the book. I wish I had read that first, I would have done some back reading because I think it is fantastic to have such deep mystery going alongside with the murder mystery.

In the back of the book, you will find recipes and even a planting guide. Since I felt lost and didn't make any hard character connections, I recommend you seek out the first part as I will do. Keep your eyes here for thoughts as I start this lovely series where it started.

Take some time to browse the other great mysteries available from Berkley Prime Crime. While you are there, you can sign up for the newsletter so you never miss a new release. I must warn you though, after browsing my wish list is longer than I could probably read. You can also connect with them on Twitter where you can happen across a fun giveaway as well.

Disclosure: I may receive products in exchange for an honest review. Regardless, I only recommend products or services I personally believe will be good for my readers.
