TerraCycle Eco-Friendly Solutions

I’m super excited about the products I’ve been using from TerraCycle. I try really hard to be ‘green’ and sometimes it’s just not easy. It can be hard to think of alternative ways to do some things. TerraCycle offers wonderful and innovative solutions that you can feel good about. I love the wide selection of recycled and up cycled products.

One of the things my husband and I really starting doing a lot more of was gardening. We got into it simply because we wanted to be able to grow some of our own vegetables and stayed at it because it is super relaxing.

There are a few things you have to consider when gardening such as what exactly do you want to feed your garden with? You want something organic that is safe to eat and won’t cause any nastiness with its' run off. TerraCycle offers a wonderful plant food that is natural and is even packaged in a waste stream bottle. It has minerals, organic ingredients and worm poop - organic worm poop created by feeding worms organic waste. It’s a super easy to use granulated style food. No more using that mystery oddly color plant food that is made from who knows what.

Now you have to water the plants of course and I don’t have a garden hose set up because I have 4 dogs that would like to play with a garden hose and render it pretty useless. I’ve always used a watering can and sadly it’s always been a plastic one. I’m so happy to get to recycle my old watering and start using one that is made from recycled snack wrappers! Snack wrappers - how cool is that! Not only am I not buying more plastic goods but by using the Eco Terra Can I am using snack wrappers that would have ended up sitting in a landfill.

Aside from vegetable gardening I also like to grow plants. There are a few potting options but nothing as wonderful as using a pot made from products rescued from a landfill. The Urban Art Flower Pot has a few really cool reasons you’ll want to support it. First the pot is made from the plastic from computers and other business equipment that would typically end up in landfills. Second the pots are hand painted buy urban artists. So not only can you feel good about helping the environment but you are also supporting artists who chose to express themselves in a positive way. Bonus - the pots look fantastic!

Another great TerraCycle product I was proud to be using was the dopp kit. It is a light, water and stain resistant bag which is made from up-cycled tents. It is perfect for the day trips me and my husband go on so frequently in the fall. I found with the three compartments it held everything I needed from a snack to credit cards. Each bag is handmade in the U.S.A. from a different tent part, giving you  a one a kind custom design.

If you are looking for eco-friendly solutions to everyday items then you will want to check out TerraCycle. I think you will be amazed and impressed by the variety and quality of the products they offer.

  8. Interesting--I haven't seen this out here in S. Idaho YET--now is the time I start picking up things such as these for next years growing season--I like the idea of this-- we do grow a few things in the house year round-- there is a very small fresh herb kitchen garden above the sink in the kitchen, this would be great for that little extra boost during the winter months....All the same thanks
