Maggie Bags

I love hand bags - I mean I really, really, love handbags! I have brought all manner of bags, from designer to dime store in my house, and my husband has not been the slightest bit impressed with any of them - until he saw my Maggie Bags Cicily Tote, that is. This bag he noticed and liked it enough to actually mention it to me! Aside from a place to put your things while you are out and about, and the pride of knowing you have a fabulous bag, someone noticing your fabulous bag and saying so is best part of carrying a bag!

I have taken a million pictures of my lovely new bag, and none of them capture the true beauty of it! It really will get you noticed. I can’t even begin to tell you about the compliments I have received since I started carrying it only last week. But wait, there are so many reasons to love Maggie Bags, aside from their style!

To start with, they are doing their part to help the environment by finding great uses for materials designed for other purposes. Their lovely line of bags are made using automotive seat belt webbing, most of which was rejected by automakers and destined for landfills. They also have a simple cut and sew operation that lessons their impact on the environment - beautiful and responsible.

As you might imagine being made from seat belt webbing these are sturdy bags. This is the first bag I've been able to toss in my washing machine when need be, and being a bit of a neat freak that is really something special to me. It has four buttons on the bottom too so that if you set your lovely bag down the fabric isn't directly on the ground. The straps are the most sturdy I've ever seen, which makes sense since they are doubled-over stitched seat belts!

When I opened the zipper I was again impressed, this time buy the roominess. From the outside it didn't really look that big, but when I opened it, it really was, and when I transferred my belongings inside there was room to spare. That is always nice since I am forever tossing last minute things in just before I dash. It also has a small zippered compartment which was the perfect size for things like my ID and credit cards that I want fast access to. It also has some open compartments on the other side which worked perfectly for my lip gloss and extra makeup that I like to travel with.

There wasn't, and still isn't, a single thing I don’t love about my Maggie Bags Cicily tote. In fact, I love it so much I am already daydreaming about one of the bigger Campus Totes or Totes of Many Colors, which would be perfect for my day trips… and a wallet… perhaps a belt… or maybe a new cosmetics bag?
