If you are expecting an important message you can wear out your mouse checking to see when it arrives! Well, not literally wear it out, but you follow the idea. There are also times you just can't sit around checking for an important message. Maybe you have things to do and can’t be pinned to your computer screen, or even if you have other things to do on the computer but still don’t want to miss an important message, I have a great product to tell you about.
The Sonic-connect 2 is a handy, small, plug and play device that easily hooks to an USB port and signals you when you get a new message via email, instant messages or even Skype. There are three different alert settings to choose from depending on what you are preoccupied with and you can easily change them. It has flashing LED lights for incoming alerts, and red lights that let you know you have a missed message. It also has a loud ringer or a vibration mode. This devices works with Windows XP or higher and will not work on Apple products.
I personally found it very useful set on vibrate so that I could carry on writing and not have the distraction of constantly checking to see if I had time sensitive messages to answer. It’s very comforting to know I won’t miss another Skype call with my relatives who live far away too! I also really like that it can be mounted easily as well because desk space in my office is limited to say the least.
You can also connect with Sonic Alert on Facebook. Sonic Alert makes a wide variety of products, most geared to help those, like me, who have hearing issues. Take a moment to browse their site and see what great products they have that you, or someone you love could benefit from. I've put a personal hearing device on my wish list, and I know a certain teenager who could benefit from the Sonic Boom clock.
I also have some great news, Sonic Alert has generously offered one lucky My Empty Nest reader the chance to win their own Sonic-connect 2. Giveaway opened to US residents 18 and older. Please use the rafflecopter below to enter. Keep an eye on your emails as the winner will have 48 hours to respond before another winner is a drawn.

I like the large display alarm clocks because, being blind, it's hard to see to the clock without my glasses on. And also I have had experience with the bed shaker alarms and they are so much better than a blaring noise in your ear when you have a migraine.
