SlugTerra: Return of the Shane Gang

Looking for something fun to watch with the kids? Well SlugTerra: Return of the Shane Gang was just released February 12th from Shout! Factory Kids.

This is the first DVD collection based on Nerd Corp's animated action series! The disc has 5 episodes and bonus features like animated Slugisodes as well. The episodes are: World Beneath Our Feet Part 1, World Beneath Our Feet Part 2, The Trade, The Slugout and Deadweed.

A bit about the characters:

Eli Shane


Eli Shane traveled one hundred miles beneath the surface of the earth to follow his father’s footsteps and become, the greatest slugslinger ever! Backed up by his team (The Shane Gang): Pronto, Trixie and kord, a selection of “super-up slugs” and his Slug Blaster, Eli is on a mission to beat the evil Dr. Blakk once and for all and bring peace and freedom to SLUGTERRA!

Burpy

Burpy is not only Eli’s favorite slug – he’s also his ultimate fire-based weapon, a master slug strategist and the leader of Eli’s army of slug buddies. Loyal to only, Eli – Burpy’s got the slickest-slug-moves in SLUGTERRA!

Kord Zane

Kord's a cave troll who just happens to be a Mountain of Muscles! He's also the Shane Gang's resident gear-head, keeping all their Mechabeasts, Blasters and gear in tip-top shape. But Kord's no "muscle-head", he's got a wicked slinging arm! With his favorite Rammstone slug Bludgeon loaded into his blaster, Kord's a force to be reckoned with in any kind of situation!

Pronto

A proud and knowledgeable molenoid tracker, Pronto is a master slugslinger and adventurer… or at least that’s what he thinks! Molenoid’s have a built-in magnetic compass that means they can find their way almost anywhere. Unfortunately this has gone to Pronto’s head, which is why he’s been kicked out of almost every cavern he's ever been to at least once!

Trixie

The Shane Gang’s resident slug expert, Trixie’s dream is to make a documentary film all about the amazing slugs she features in her "Slugisodes." When it comes to battling or a slug-duel, Trixie’s always a bulls-eye and can often spot a safe exit or smart strategy when the team is caught up in a battle!

Dr. Blakk


Owner of the powerful Blakk Industries, Dr. Blakk is a rich and evil man. His ultimate goal? Control all of Slugterra, and destroy the magical slug energy that protects this underground world. A powerful slugslinger, Blakk has corrupted his slugs through the dark science of ghouling, turning them into freaks!

We had so much fun watching this together! There were more than a few times we laughed out loud and plenty of adventure to hold everyone's attention. The slugs are actually pretty cute which is surprising since they are slugs!! We all loved Burpy. The animation was also very well done and beautiful to watch. I really love the Trixie character because that makes this cartoon appeal to both boys and girls. I recommend it for a fun day of watching with the family.
