buddingSTEM

As a little girl, I wanted to be a paleontologist. I liked getting dirty, science, and a bunch of other things that aren't conventionally "girly". Now, as a mother of a little girl, I see so much of myself in her. She loves dinosaurs, toy cars and trains, and playing with her brother in the mud. Of course, just like my mother did for me, I encourage my daughter to explore the world around her and support all of her interests, "girly" or not.

When I found buddingSTEM, I knew I loved everything they stood for and that my daughter would too. It was founded by two mothers who also have daughters with interests in science, technology, engineering, and math (STEM). Space, dinosaurs, and trains are not just for boys. Girls should be able to express their love for these things, just like little boys can, through their clothes. When I showed Bella her Apatosaurus Dress from buddingSTEM, she could not stop smiling and put it on instantly!

Her dress is a basic t-shirt style dress that is navy blue with pink print. It is really comfortable and perfect for a day full of digging up dinosaurs. BuddingSTEM offers a full line of clothing so there is a piece, or two, for every little girl. Be sure to check out the buddingSTEM website to see their full line and learn more. Also, be sure to follow them on Facebook and Twitter so you never miss anything new!

Genie Best Bath Toy Organizer

Since I have two children who both like different toys, my shower is full of bath toys from both of them. I have used other bath toy organizers to no avail. They either break or won't hold all of the toys without falling. I recently got the chance to try out Genie Best's Bath Toy Organizer and I am so happy with it! It is made of purple and green non-toxic, BPA free, phthalate free, and PVC free plastic.

This organizer is pretty big (8.2" W x 11.4" L) and has a huge 4.7" mouth to help you scoop up all of your child's bath toys. I really like that there are holes all over the organizer too. It allows the toys to drain and dry properly without you having to worry about mold or mildew. The organizer hangs on the shower wall using a suction cup bracket. They even send you an extra set of suction cups! This organizer can hold an impressive 10 pounds of toys! How awesome is that? I don't have to worry about my toy organizer ever falling again!

I love this Genie Best Bath Toy Organizer and I know you will do! It keeps your shower de-cluttered and clean while also being very practical! Head on over to Amazon where you can purchase one for yourself! You even get a free e-book about child nutrition with your purchase! Also, if you aren't completely satisfied, you can return your organizer, no questions asked, within 30 days of purchase!

Sharing Small - The Sock Subscription That Gives

It is no secret that I love subscription boxes/services. Getting little surprises in your mailbox every month is just the best! Well, I happened to stumble upon a service recently, Sharing Small, that I just love and had to share with you! For only $10 per month, your child will get sent two pairs of socks delivered to your doorstep. But that is not all! For every pair of socks that they send out, they also donate a pair to children in need!

I have always loved bright and colorful socks. Because of this, not only are my own socks usually loud, but so are my children's socks. Since I have a 3 year old girl and 2 year old son, everything I do is in pairs, so I love that you are sent two pairs every month. Since they are the same, that means there will be no fighting, which is also a huge bonus!

The two characters featured on the socks are the Sharing Small Explorers who go on an adventure every month and take your child along with them. This month we went parachuting which also happened to teach both of my children a new word! I ordered a size small that is fit for ages 2-4. Though the socks fit on both of my children, they were a little big on my son but not so big that he couldn't wear them. I like that he has some growing room.

I love that you can not only take your children on an adventure every month, but that you can also teach them about giving, sharing, charity, and empathy. In such a fast-paced, self-centered world, it is great to be able to teach your children about these things that are often overlooked in our day-to-day lives! Learn more about Sharing Small on their website. Also, be sure to follow them on Facebook and Twitter to never miss any news!

Happy T-Shirts from Gladditudes (With Giveaway and Coupon Code)

T-shirts are probably the most versatile pieces of clothing. Not only can they be dressed up or down, but they also come in seemingly endless options. Which so many choices, sometimes it may be hard to find the perfect shirt for your mood. For those days when you are happy and want the whole world to know, there is Gladditudes!

Gladditudes is a t-shirt company that offers high-quality, happy shirts for the whole family. Each shirt is available in a variety of colors, sizes, and shirt styles. They offer baby, youth, juniors, men's, and women's sizes and even maternity shirts. Gladditudes t-shirts are printed through Spreadshirt.com and most are printing using Flex Print. Flex Print is heat-pressed into the fibers of the shirt and is super durable. That means your shirts print will be resistant to cracking and fading and will last a very long time.

My daughter is a huge Spongebob Squarepants fan so when I saw the 'This is My Best Day Ever' shirt, I knew she had to have it (I am sure most of you can hear the song in your head now!) I ordered the shirt a size big so she could get a lot of wear out of it. In the second picture to the right, the shirt isn't folded or tied up. She wears a 5T-XS youth shirt normally and this shirt is a size small. You can see she has a bunch of growing room! The shirt is super soft and comfortable and breathes easily as well.

Mommy and daughter are both very happy with the shirt we received from Gladditudes. Be sure to check out the Gladditudes website to see all of the awesome designs that they offer. Be sure to follow them on Facebook and Twitter to never miss any news as well!

When on the Gladditudes Facebook page, be sure to enter the giveaway as well. You can enter to win the $25 gift card HERE. Also, if you use the code "LOVE4ALL" before February 2nd, you will get free shipping on the Gladditudes website!

FabKids - November

I am sure you all remember FabKids from last month but just in case: FabKids is a fashion club started by a group of mothers, including Christina Applegate. For $29.95 a month, you get a full two piece outfit of your choice. You have until the 5th of each month to skip the month before you are charged and receive one credit for an outfit. Using that credit, you choose an outfit off of the FabKid's website and your child is on his or her way to looking fabulous! They carry sizes 2-12 in both girl and boy options. Also, if you spend $49 or more, your outfits ship for free!

This month I chose the Winter Pastel Outfit. The outfit includes a fuzzy, striped sweater in pastel pink and purple. I can't even begin to describe how incredibly soft this sweater is. I am genuinely jealous that this doesn't come in adult sizes. It is so warm, soft and perfect for winter. My daughter immediately started hugging it when she saw it and she didn't stop until we took it off for the day! This sweater is easily the softest sweater I have ever felt and we both love it!

The skirt included is a metallic rose gold color. I really like the length. It comes down to her knees so I don't have to worry about it being too short. It is a circle type skirt so it pleats naturally and has great movement when Bella wears it. The best thing about this outfit is the pieces are great staples in her wardrobe. She can wear them together, or I can pair them with other items she already has. I love pieces that are versatile and can go with a bunch of outfits, instead of just one!

As always, I am so happy with my choices from FabKids this month! FabKids is just a great service all around. Not only do you receive adorable clothing, but the pieces you get are very high quality and will last your child a long time. Go to the FabKid's website and see all of their great options for yourself. Also, be sure to follow them on Facebook and Twitter to never miss any news!

WorryWoo

Helping children work through their emotions can be hard. Luckily, there is a series of books to help you, and your little one, face what may be bothering them. It's called The WorryWoo Monsters, and each book comes with an adorable stuffed monster too. Not only are they cute little monsters, but this series helps children to deal with complex emotional issues in a wonderful, easy and open way, making it a wonderful parenting tool.

The WorryWoo Monsters, a series by Andi Green, who wanted to create characters with a story that each embodied an emotion, is a wonderful way to explore emotional issues your child might be dealing with. The monsters who help are Wince, Nola, Rue, Squeek, Fuddle, and Twitch. Each story explores a different emotion such as loneliness, feeling like you don’t fit in, worrying to much, and being shy which are all issues that children face.

Wince’s story book, Don’t Feed the WorryBug, is a wonderful WorryWoos story about how worries grow bigger and bigger, if you let them and we all know that can be so very true. The book gives kids the idea to stay busy doing fun things and not waste their days worrying. This book is a great tool to not only address your child's feelings, but also help them work through them and find better things to do than worry. The advice is awesome and something that we could all learn from.

Reading the book together is fun too because it has such a sweet character and the tempo and rhyme scheme are really nice, especially for reading out loud. Also included was a great workbook called, Helping Young Worriers Beat the WorryBug. This book is very informative and full of great ideas to help your little worrier beat their own WorryBugs.

I know we will be adding more to our WooryWoos collection very soon. To shop for a monster that is right for your family you can visit the WorryWoos website. The WorryWoos books are available for $14.99 and come in hardcover. The coordinating plush toys are $21.50. You can get the book and plush together as a set for $36. You can also follow WorryWoos on Facebook, Twitter, and YouTube to stay connected and updated on all of the new monsters and their stories!

FabKids - October

I am sure you all remember FabKids but just in case: FabKids is a fashion club started by a group of mothers, including Christina Applegate.

This is my third month with FabKids and this is, by far, my favorite outfit yet! This month there were so many adorable options and it was so hard to pick, but eventually I chose the Lead Singer outfit. The shirt is bright, neon green with fuzzy writing that says, "Music makes me happy". There is also silver sequins on the shoulders and hearts, stars, and music notes surrounding the writing.

The skirt in this outfit is just too cute. It is gray and has all sorts of fun stuff on it. From cute little skulls with bows and heart eyes, to hearts, bows, music notes, and words like 'rock' and 'love'. The skirt is tiered and had great movement when Bella was playing in it. I love that all of the outfits I get from FabKids are not only adorable but are comfortable and allow my little one to play freely.

As always, I am so happy with my choices from FabKids this month! FabKids is just a great service all around. FabKids - September

This month's pick was just too cute! The outfit features a pair of skinny leg overalls and a striped shirt that says 'Wild at Heart'. The overalls fit my daughter awesomely and I know she will be able to wear them for quite a while. The straps are adjustable so if she gets taller, she can still wear them. I was worried that since they are skinny legged, that they might be a little tight and constricting, but that is not the case. My daughter easily played in them and was comfortable.

The shirt has multicolored stripes and the writing is in shiny gold. My daughter is quite the character so I think the writing on it is very fitting for her free spirit. The shirt also has adorable ruffles on the shoulders. Both of the pieces fit my daughter fabulously and are great paired together, or even on their own with other items from her closet. Both of these items are made really well and I know she will get a lot of wear out of them!

I am so happy with my choices from FabKids this month! FabKids is just a great service all around. Not only do you receive adorable clothing, but the pieces you get are very high quality and will last your child a long time. Go to the FabKid's website and see all of their great options for yourself. Also, be sure to follow them on Facebook and Twitter to never miss any news!

Witch's Night Out on DVD from Mill Creek

It’s probably not a surprise to you all that Fall is my favorite time of year and Halloween has always been my favorite holiday. There is just something so magical about getting to be whatever you want for the day. In fact, no one has ever been able to convince me that I am too old to dress up.

Getting to be whatever you want is the topic of great cartoon I just had the pleasure to watch! Witch’s Night Out is available for the first time on DVD from Mill Creek. I had really thought I have seen every single Halloween special out there, but I guess I was wrong because I hadn't seen this one yet.

Witch’s Night Out is a fully animated cartoon that starts Gilda Radner as the Witch! I love Gilda, who doesn't? This originally aired on NBC in October 1978. The basic premise is that there’s a party at the Witch’s haunted mansion and she is the star of the show by letting the children be whatever they want for Halloween… for real. What could go wrong? … You will have to watch and see!

In addition to this fun feature the DVD also has great bonus material. There is a Witch’s Night Out comic book and several bonus cartoons including:  Casper the Friendly Ghost: There's Good Boos To-Night - The Friendly Ghost - Boo Moon, Felix The Cat: Skulls and Sculls, Hoppity Hooper: Ghost, Space Angel: The Ghost and Crystal Mace, Popeye the Sailor Man: Spooky Swabs, New 3 Stooges: Mummies Boys, and Meany, Miny & Moe: House of Magic.

Make sure you head over to browse the full selection of titles from Mill Creek Entertainment on their website. You will find everything from family and classics, to horror and sci-fi! Make sure you stay connected with them on Facebook and Twitter too so that you never miss a new release.

Adorable Children's Jewelry from Lily Nily

Finding good quality jewelry for our little ones can be a pain. A lot of children's jewelry on the market is cheap and gaudy, or costs an arm and a leg. However, I recently discovered an awesome brand: Lily Nily. Lily Nily offers adorable children's jewelry that is the perfect balance between fun, whimsical and fashionable. Best part? You won't break the bank buying your little one some adorable jewelry!

The first piece I received was the Sunglasses Link Bracelet. I think this piece is just absolutely adorable! The pink pair of sunglasses feature small purple flowers and is surrounded by white and pink hearts. This bracelet is 5 inches long with a 1 inch extender and lobster claw closure. The bracelet is hand painted and is 18k gold-plated brass. I love how this piece is playful and girly while not being too over the top and gaudy.

The other bracelet I received was the Ladybug Link Bracelet. This bracelet is the same length and has the same lobster claw closure as the Sunglasses Bracelet. It is also hand painted and 18k gold-plated brass as well. I instantly fell in love with this piece and so did my daughter. She loved calling out all of the different colors and I love that it will go with any outfit that she is wearing. I can see my daughter wearing this for many years to come!

The last item I received was a pair of Ladybug Stud Earrings. These earrings are 18k gold-plated brass as well and feature a stainless steel post. They are hand painted and use a butterfly closure. These earrings are just too adorable! Like with all of the pieces I received, I love that they are still playful and girly but not too over the top. My daughter and I both love these simple, cute earrings.

I love the pieces that I received from Lily Nily. It is great to find a brand of children's jewelry that makes more 'serious' jewelry while also maintaining a sense of playfulness. Head on over to the Lily Nily site and see all of the great pieces that they offer. I know you won't be disappointed. Also, follow them on Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram to never miss any news!

When you are done, hurry back though because it is giveaway time! One lucky reader will win a $50 LilyNily.com giftcard! Enter using the Rafflecopter below. Open to US residents, 18 years or older. Winner has 48 hours to respond before another is drawn. Good luck!

Children's Fashion Made Easy With FabKids

Shopping for children can be a pain. Putting together outfits while toting around your child in a busy store can be almost impossible but thanks to FabKids, that is no more! FabKids is a fashion club started by a group of mothers, including Christina Applegate.

Your outfits will arrive in pink boxes for girls and blue boxes for boys. I love the little details that companies think about to make their service that much more special.

The outfit we received is called the Ikat Outfit and features the Ikat dress and yellow Fab Soft Leggings. The first thought I had when picking up the dress was, "Wow!" This dress has a nice weight to it and doesn't feel cheap in any sense of the word. It is such a good quality that I would easily pay the $29.95, if not more, just for the dress alone. The zipper in the back is a more heavy duty zipper and the stitching throughout the dress is fantastic with no weak spots or strays.

The yellow leggings are great as well. They are a little thicker and more durable that most children's leggings and have a great stretch to them. I think the best part about these items is that my daughter is comfortable in them. As you can see, she is still her rowdy, playful self and doesn't feel constricted or restrained. I love that she looks so cute and she likes that she can still horseplay comfortably. It is a win-win!

FabKid's is just a great service all around. Not only do you receive adorable clothing, but the pieces you get are very high quality and will last your child a long time. Go to the FabKid's website and see all of their great options for yourself. Also, be sure to follow them on Facebook and Twitter to never miss any news!

Cold and Flu Season with Giant Microbes

The end of summer brings with it lots of things I love. The start of fall, of course, and the lovely temperatures. Not to mention the beautiful change of leaves.  The start of the school year is also always very exciting to me. What can I say? I was a bit of a nerd and just loved a new year filled with new things to learn.

Back to school also brings with it cold and flu season and lots of germy kids in close quarters. As a mom, I never minded sounding naggy when it meant protecting my kids but wouldn't it be great if there was a fun way to remind them about germs and proper hand washing? I certainly think when things are presented in a fun way, kids listen better.

You may remember me talking about Giant Microbes before. These fun little microbes come in such a huge variety of types, as well as products that range from plushes to household items like soap dispensers. How very neat is it to have a Common Cold soap dispenser? I mean now your lesson will surely sink in. Who would not stop and wash their hands every time they pass the sink if they saw that sweet little cold germ there reminding them that they need to so they don’t get sick?

The dispenser is a nice sturdy design with a large rounded base that won’t constantly be falling over and crashing to the floor or in the sink like many designer bottles, and the blue color just happened to be a perfect match for my bathroom. The top screws off easily so you can fill it and refill it with your favorite anti-microbial hand soap in a flash.

To carry on the teaching about germs and ways to avoid colds and flu you can also grab each of kids a plush. The Common Cold Plush is probably the cutest little cold I’ve ever seen. Like the soap dispenser, he is all blue with the little round bits. There is a little card in the plush that has some fun facts to share with you and your children as well. Another plush you will want is the Flu. I know even a cute stuffed version of the Flu is scary and that is probably why you need it! You really want your children to be super careful during flu season.

With the combination of the plush microbes and the soap dispenser you can easily teach your children lessons they will remember and hopefully make the cold and flu season in your house a less scary, germ free time. Take some time to browse the Giant Microbes site, they really have the most adorable selection and it is so vast you are sure to find the microbe that speaks to you.

You can also connect with them on Facebook and Twitter for news and fun promotions. Make sure you head back here though because one lucky winner will get the same items I reviewed! Open to US residents 18 and older. Please use the rafflecopter below to enter. Winners have 48 hours to respond before another winner is selected.

Skinfix Inc.

Rashes, dryness, eczema, and bug bites are just a few of the skin problems that we face. Having dry, itchy skin is irritating and can leave you wishing for any kind of relief. Skinfix Inc. is here to make your skin woes fade! Starting back in 1850 England, Thomas Dixon made a skin healing ointment and the rest is history! His wonderful ointments have been loved by many ever since!

I was lucky enough to have the chance to try Skinfix's line and I am so happy with my results! The first product I tried was the Body Repair Balm. The balm is dermatologist tested and steroid, fragrance, paraben, and phthalate free. The packaging is also BPA free. You can use this stuff for just about anything! Eczema, minor burns, bug bites, dryness, itchiness, cracked heels and so much more! I have been using this on my eczema prone legs and dry elbows and it has worked miracles! My skin feels so soft and moisturized afterwards and it helps calm down my eczema making it less irritated and itchy. I have even used it on mosquito bites to help the itchiness go away! I love this cream and never want to be without it again!

The next product I tried was the Diaper Rash Balm. This balm is pediatrician and dermatologist tested, fragrance, nut, gluten, paraben, phthalate, and steroid free and also has BPA free packaging. This balm is a miracle. It is just that simple. My son, who has sensitive eczema and rash prone skin, had a rash I just could not get rid of. I tried everything I could think of, to no avail. I was about to take him to the doctor but then this arrived. This took the redness away in only a few hours and completely cleared it up in 2-3 days. I swear by this now.

My son and I have eczema that can get pretty uncomfortable and even painful at times. The Gentle Eczema Balm is formulated specifically for sensitive, eczema prone skin. It is pediatrician and dermatologist tested, fragrance, nut, soy, paraben, phthalate, and steroid free. It also has BPA free packaging and does not contain hydrocortisone. The eczema cream my son's doctor prescribed is a steroid cream and I don't like the idea of rubbing that all over him but it was the only thing that worked for him...until now. This balm works just as well as that cream but is all natural! I can feel good about using this on him.

The last balm I tried was the Rapid Repair Balm. This balm is dermatologist tested paraben, phthalate, steroid, gluten, and fragrance free and has the same BPA free packing. This balm is just as awesome as the Body Repair Balm. It can fix just about any skin ailment you may have. Between these two balms, you will never have to worry about irritated skin again! If you try any of these products, I recommend one of those two.

The last product I tried was the Gentle Hair & Body Wash. I received a few little sample size bottles of this product and I will definitely be repurchasing it. It is pediatrician and dermatologist tested, fragrance, nut, soy, sulfate, paraben, phthalate, and tear free. If you have a child with eczema or sensitive skin, you know that bath time can end up drying out and hurting their skin more than it helps it. I am not only able to bathe my son everyday without worrying about drying out his skin, but he feels so soft and smooth afterwards. I love this soap and I am pretty sure he likes that his skin feels better!

Skinfix Inc. has been a lifesaver for my families skin. Any kind of irritation I have encountered since having these products on hand has been taken care of with one of them. Be sure to check out Skinfix Inc's website and also follow them on Facebook and Twitter to never miss out on any news!
