Architectural Mailboxes Elephantrunk Review & Giveaway

To say I receive a lot of packages would be a serious understatement. I am on a first name basis with all of the major delivery service drivers, and my mailman loves to hang out and chat with my husband while I have fun with all of my packages. During one of their chats he suggested I may need a bigger mailbox. I certainly agree and really liked the idea of not having soggy packages laying on the ground, out in the open for anyone to run off with.

I have a lot of fabulous things but my old mailbox, well it’s ugly. I mean seriously, it is tied with wire to a pole that isn't even a proper mailbox post - sad. When I got serious about getting a new box I knew I didn't want another ugly mailbox. I wanted a mailbox that I could be proud of, one that would not only hold all of my mail, but look great doing it.

Architectural Mailboxes offers a line of mailboxes that are simply awesome. While they will hold your mail they will also complement your house and not be an eyesore like mailboxes can be. These are stylish boxes in a nice range of sizes and styles.

Due to the volume of mail I receive I opted for the Elephantrunk which is a lovely parcel box. When I think of a parcel box I think of the odd looking blue mail drop type, but the Elephant Trunk is a sleek and lovely box. I picked the black but it is also available in white, red and oil rubbed bronze.

Being a drop type means that your packages are dropped into a bottom compartment, which has a 3-point, Pry Resistant locking system safety, and there they are safely stored for you to pick up later. I love that I don’t have to worry about waiting on packages anymore!

Speaking of safety, this is one sturdy box! It is constructed of Cast Aluminum and coated in Heavy Gauge Steel Powder. No one is going to be walking off with your new box either because it comes with the items needed to bolt it to the ground! That’s extremely helpful here because we have some serious storms and the winds, even with a common storm, can be crazy strong.

Now at first I was worried that dropping boxes to the compartment might be an issue because I do get some fragile items. However, there is a nice foam padding at the bottom of the drop that protects your packages from having a hard landing. I am happy to report that I have had no issues with fragile items at all.

The installation was very simple, my husband had it together and ready for mail in less than a half hour. It comes as one piece, you just need to attach a few things like the handle and name plate and then fasten it down where you would like it.

Do you have an ugly mailbox or know someone who does? If you do I have some great news.
