Holiday Gift Guide - For Kids - WorryWoos

Finding a meaningful gift for children can be hard but I have a wonderful series of books to tell you about. It's called The WorryWoo Monsters, and each book comes with an adorable stuffed monster too. Not only are they cute little monsters, but this series helps children to deal with complex emotional issues in a wonderful easy and opened way, making it a wonderful parenting tool.

The WorryWoo Monsters, a series by Andi Green, who wanted to create characters with a story that each embodied an emotion, is a wonderful way to explore emotional issues your child might be dealing with. Each story explores a different emotion such as loneliness, feeling like you don’t fit in, worrying to much, and being shy. These are issues all children deal with.

The monsters who help are Wince, Nola, Rue, Squeek, Fuddle, and Twitch. These are some of the cutest monsters I've ever seen. In my family we are all worriers so I knew Wince would be a great fit. Wince is the monster of worry and if you’re like me then you could definitely benefit from reading his story! I think that sadly most people do worry too much and it really makes me sad to see the kids struggle with worrying. I love that Wince gives me a way to help the kids stop feeding their worry monster before it becomes a habit!

Wince’s story book, Don’t Feed the WorryBug, is a wonderful WorryWoos story about how worries grow bigger and bigger if you let them and we all know that can be so very true. The book gives kids the idea to stay busy doing fun things and not waste their days worrying. That’s advice we should all heed.

Reading the books together is fun too because it has such a sweet character and the tempo and rhyme scheme are really nice, especially for reading out loud. For us the best part was Wince! Actually having a Wince to hold while we were reading is awesome. As an extra tool whenever we have to go some place that is scary, like the dentist or doctor the kids bring along Wince and instead of worrying they talk to him and it really seems to help!
