Holiday Gift Guide - For Pets - Best Friend Box

You guys hear a lot about my dogs. It’s hard to miss four pushy dogs. I know I have mentioned a few times that we also have a cat, Sam. He thinks he is a dog most of the time but when it comes to food and toys he is all cat. He is just as much my best friend as Cleo, the pushiest of the my dogs who seems to get all the attention, and as such we pamper Sam just as much.

The first thing he tried was the Tummy Ticklin‘ Turkey Freeze Dried Dinner from Stella & Chewy‘s. This was made with 98% cage-free poultry! It has no grains and no fillers. Plus it is gluten free, with no hormones or antibiotics. It is just good to eat meat and Sam noticed the difference. It’s really easy to fix too, you just add a few tablespoons of warm water and let it re-hydrate. The hardest part was getting Sam to wait. 

Also from Stella & Chewy’s was the freeze dried dinner in the Duck Duck Goose flavor. With all the same great cage-free meat and lack of nasty ingredients as the Turkey dinner, Sam was fast to gobble this one up too. I love to feed him something that makes him purr while he eats. 

While we are talking about yummy treats there were also some freeze dried treats from Pet ‘N Shape. 100% Natural Chicken Liver Plus. There were two varieties Pumpkin & Apple, as well as Sweet Potato & Broccoli. I think it is fair to say that Sam liked them both so much it was hard to tell if he had a favorite. What I really loved is that both had just three ingredients. Seriously just the three food ingredients, that is pretty awesome in people food and extremely rare in pet food. 

After he has a full belly and a nap Sam likes to play, sometimes, he can be lazy though. When I pulled out the Kong Naturals Straw Ball it certainly got his attention. He loves to play with balls and these had the added allure of catnip. I had to put the dogs out and then I let him down to roll it around and have a play. One really awesome thing is that these are made from materials that are natural and renewable. 

And last but his favorite, well favorite toy, I think food always ranks tops with my chubby cat, was the Nylabone Cat Dental Rattle & Roll Octo-Floss Toy.  As with most cats Sam loves anything that has dangly parts and this one has many dangly parts. The dangly legs are made with denta-net which actually helps to keep Sam’s teeth clean. So while he is fascinated with the rattle and catnip he is actually helping us to keep his mouth cleaner and healthier! It’s all win.
