280 Crochet Shell Patterns from Leisure Arts

Hello crafty cats! How are you this week? I am doing great and happy to report I have another great book to tell you about that you will want to add to your stitch library. My favorite craft book site, Leisure Arts, as you well know, has so many awesome stitch guides to pick from and this week we are going to look at one for making shell stitches.

First, I want to say I just love shells! They can be used to make both solid fabrics and to create lovely lacy fabrics. There are an endless variety as you will see in 280 Crochet Shell Patterns from Leisure Arts. That’s right 280!! Can you even imagine the things your could design with such a range to pick from? Plus, these range from easy to very fancy so all skill levels can dive right in and make one-of-a-kind creations.

As with all of the pattern books from Leisure Arts, the instructions are so easy to follow and they even have a section in the back that goes over a few of the things that might be new to you in this book.  I tend to always work a season ahead, so that I can work at my pace, so I am starting to look to making my fall crafts. The first thing I wanted to try with these shell options was a lacy fall scarf.

I think the hardest part was settling on one stitch! I mean seriously I had to go over them all a ton of times to narrow it down to just one to start with. Of course, as I was doing so, I made notes about some that I definitely wanted to come back to very soon. Even if you are still on summer projects there are some very lacy patterns in here as well that would be perfect.

Have you ever designed a pattern or worked freehand? What do you think you would design with a great resource like this? No matter what type of craft or pattern you are looking for, take some time to browse Leisure Arts' great selection and make sure you also connect with Leisure Arts on Facebook and Twitter so that you never miss a special or new pattern! Also, if you sign up for their knitting or crochet newsletters, you get a free pattern on Fridays!

Please come back next week to see another awesome book that every creative crocheter needs in their stitch library.

Disclosure: I may receive products in exchange for an honest review. Regardless, I only recommend products or services I personally believe will be good for my readers.

  1. Some of those lacy patterns are really pretty. I always thought I liked the solid patterns, but I may just change my mind.
