Contest Favorites 40 Afghans to Crochet from Leisure Arts

When it comes to thinking about crochet projects, I think Afghans will always be my true love. There is something so special about giving and receiving something as epic as a well made blanket. As soon as you cover with it, you are instantly wrapped in the love of the creator. If you have ever made one you know it is a true labor of love.

The hardest part for me about finding a project to start is finding that perfect pattern that matches the person you are making it for. There are thousands of blanket patterns that all look sort of similar but I love finding that one that stands out, one that every one will look at and think wow! Many pattern books have one like that, but Contest Favorites 40 Afghans to Crochet has 40 that are all top notch designs.

With 40 patterns written in easy to follow directions that are designed for all levels from beginner to more challenging, the only struggle I have now is picking which one to do first! With the holiday season fast approaching I will be using this pattern book over and over and I know my gift recipients will all be happy with the awesome creations.

A few that rise to the top for me are the Starlight, because it reminds me of peppermints, the Christmas, and the Woven Scraps because I have never seen one like that before and it is adorable. Do you make afghans for gifts? What is your favorite type of project?

No matter what type of craft or pattern you are looking for, take some time to browse Leisure Arts' great selection and make sure you also connect with Leisure Arts on Facebook and Twitter so that you never miss a special or new pattern! Also, if you sign up for their knitting or crochet newsletters, you get a free pattern on Fridays!

Disclosure: I may receive products in exchange for an honest review. Regardless, I only recommend products or services I personally believe will be good for my readers.

  1. Afghans are so pretty and they look nice draped over a chair and bed. I like the two afghans shown in this post. They are gorgeous. I would love to get an afghan as a present. I bet your friends would love to receive one from you.
