Holiday Gift Guide - For Her - Beauty Box 5

I have always liked the idea of a monthly subscription box. I love trying new things but often draw a blank on what to try next. A subscription box takes all the guess work out! I will admit that I have been hesitant to subscribe to a monthly box for fear of receiving products that would be of no use to me. I am happy to report that that fear did not come to life when I opened up October's Beauty Box 5! I was pleasantly surprised to see products that were for everyday and that weren't crazy, dramatic colors.

The first product that I went for was the Aveeno Daily Moisturizing Lotion ($6.99, 8 oz). I absolutely love Aveeno products and this lotion was no exception. It claims to be, "clinically proven to improve the health of skin in one day," and I believe that statement isn't too far off. I use this lotion on my legs where I am driest due to eczema. It works wonders and doesn't irritate my skin, which is a huge plus! It also doesn't leave you feeling heavy or greasy.

Up next we have the Model Co Illusion Lip Pencil in Nude ($20). This pencil is supposed to enhance your natural lip shape while also not drying out your lips. I did notice that my lips weren't as dry after wearing this as they can be with other lip pencils but I didn't really notice any 'enhancing' going on. I wore this under my lipstick as a base and it helped the staying power of my lipstick quite a bit. I like the color of the pencil but I could see it being a little dark for people that do not have very pigmented lips. It is a dusty rose color that is almost brown when swatched on your skin. On your lips, more of the pink undertones come out and it looks more like your average nude lip pencil. I also really love that there is a sharpener built into the cap. I am always losing my sharpeners and it is nice to know that I won't lose this one unless, of course, I happen to misplace the whole pencil! This pencil glided on to my lips and didn't tug at them. I really like that the formula isn't as dry as a lot of other lip pencils on the market.

Who doesn't love glitter? I know I do! These Swissco Glitter Toe Separators ($2) are just too cute! Personally, painting my toe nails is a hassle and I usually bribe my husband into doing it but these little gems make a chore a little more fun! They are a little stiff at first but a few wears loosens them right up!

Sometimes your face needs a little refresher and these LA Fresh Travel Lite Facial Cleansing Wipes ($19.99, 48 count) do just the trick. They have a pretty, mild scent and make your face feel clean and refreshed without it feeling stripped of all it's moisture. I did try to take my make-up off with one, just to see how well it would do and the results weren't horrible but weren't perfect either. I would use these for cleansing a make-up free face rather than taking off said make-up. Overall, I do like the wipes and the aloe vera, cucumber, chamomile, marshmallow, and tea plant extracts keep your face feeling moisturized and clean!

Last, but certainly not least, there was a little nail polish packed away in this month's box. This Nubar Alter Ego Nail Lacquer in Blondie ($8, 0.5 oz) is just fabulous! I love glitter polish and this one is great. It is a gold-toned giltter polish with various sizes of glitter. It is chunky enough to be worn on its own with 2-3 coats but can be sparse enough to wear as a top coat over your favorite polish with 1 coat.

As a whole, I was very impressed with Beauty Box 5. The shipping was super fast and the products were great. You receive 5 generously sized samples each month for only $12! You can save money buy paying quarterly and yearly as well. I know that I personally would love to receive a subscription to BB5 for the holidays. Be sure to also check them out on Facebook, Twitter, Pinterest, YouTube, and Instagram to stay updated on all the Beauty Box news!

Disclosure: I may receive products in exchange for an honest review. Regardless, I only recommend products or services I personally believe will be good for my readers.
