Big Book of Crochet from Leisure Arts

I have to say I am now fully addicted to yarn arts! As my yarn stash grows out of control I am always searching for a new stitch, technique, or pattern. My most valuable resource has been the internet and my favorite place to look on the internet is Leisure Arts

The sheer volume of selection of patterns and books, as well as tools and kits is just amazing. Once you take a look, you will know the great feeling of being spoiled for choice! My most recent endeavor has been crochet and since I am pretty new, I wanted a general crochet book that would cover a lot of areas.

The Big Book of Crochet fits my needs perfectly. There are over 120 projects to work on or to be inspired by. There are 17 afghan patterns, and I was instantly drawn to the Serenity design, which I put on the hook the same day I received the book!  As you can see from my progress the pattern is just awesome and will make a perfect, light afghan.

In addition to afghans there is  a section for babies that has 16 patterns ranging from socks to blankets and even beautiful layette sets. The patterns are so pretty, I may adapt then to make a slightly bigger blanket for my grandson who is just a little too big for the baby sizes now.

There are 16 patterns in the fashion section that has ladies, children and even dog patterns. There is seriously a huge range here and they are all top notch and fun. The levels range from projects a beginner can complete to projects that will be a bit more of a challenge.

There are 25 patterns in the home section and the range here is also awesome from dollies to rugs and even baskets! I can’t wait to try the pillow pattern, and the table runner. I really need more time to crochet. There are just so many phenomenal patterns!

If you are looking for a crochet book that has some of everything and loads of inspiration, I highly recommend Big Book of Crochet from Leisure Arts. While you are there browse around because they really have something, lots of somethings, for every type of crafter. Make sure you connect with them on Facebook and Twitter so that you never miss a special or new pattern! Also if you sign up for their knitting or crochet newsletters, you get a free pattern on Fridays!

Disclosure: I may receive products in exchange for an honest review. Regardless, I only recommend products or services I personally believe will be good for my readers.

  1. Now this looks more familiar to me than knitting. I used to crochet years ago when I was a kid. I forgot how much fin it was, maybe I should think about picking up those crochet hooks again.

  3. My mother taught me to crochet every time I was sick in bed growing up. It never took. I knitted a scarf once and that was enough for me.

  7. What a nice book to help with learning to Crochet. Crocheting to me is easier than knitting. I think the things that can be made are so pretty because the yarn is so colorful and the designs are really nice.
