Cold and Flu Season with Giant Microbes

The end of summer brings with it lots of things I love. The start of fall, of course, and the lovely temperatures. Not to mention the beautiful change of leaves.  The start of the school year is also always very exciting to me. What can I say? I was a bit of a nerd and just loved a new year filled with new things to learn.

Back to school also brings with it cold and flu season and lots of germy kids in close quarters. As a mom, I never minded sounding naggy when it meant protecting my kids but wouldn't it be great if there was a fun way to remind them about germs and proper hand washing? I certainly think when things are presented in a fun way, kids listen better.

You may remember me talking about Giant Microbes before. These fun little microbes come in such a huge variety of types, as well as products that range from plushes to household items like soap dispensers. How very neat is it to have a Common Cold soap dispenser? I mean now your lesson will surely sink in. Who would not stop and wash their hands every time they pass the sink if they saw that sweet little cold germ there reminding them that they need to so they don’t get sick?

The dispenser is a nice sturdy design with a large rounded base that won’t constantly be falling over and crashing to the floor or in the sink like many designer bottles, and the blue color just happened to be a perfect match for my bathroom. The top screws off easily so you can fill it and refill it with your favorite anti-microbial hand soap in a flash.

To carry on the teaching about germs and ways to avoid colds and flu you can also grab each of kids a plush. The Common Cold Plush is probably the cutest little cold I’ve ever seen. Like the soap dispenser, he is all blue with the little round bits. There is a little card in the plush that has some fun facts to share with you and your children as well. Another plush you will want is the Flu. I know even a cute stuffed version of the Flu is scary and that is probably why you need it! You really want your children to be super careful during flu season.

With the combination of the plush microbes and the soap dispenser you can easily teach your children lessons they will remember and hopefully make the cold and flu season in your house a less scary, germ free time. Take some time to browse the Giant Microbes site, they really have the most adorable selection and it is so vast you are sure to find the microbe that speaks to you.

You can also connect with them on Facebook and Twitter for news and fun promotions. Make sure you head back here though because one lucky winner will get the same items I reviewed! Open to US residents 18 and older. Please use the rafflecopter below to enter. Winners have 48 hours to respond before another winner is selected.

  4. I love all the GiantMicrobes! They're all cute and so informative! I especially love the cancer cells. It's so cool how they can be turned inside out to represent a sick cell or a healthy cell.
